Pearl's team was behind 43-18 in the first half of their last game. If that doesnt deter the Pearl Pumpers, $27million of someone else's money certainly wont.

Absolutely. Memphis is still a top 30 job. Auburn only got Pearl because nobody else wanted to take a chance on him and they have football money. It is a FOOTBALL school and always will be-basketball is relegated to back pages on signing day, spring practice, etc.

There's a lot more cost-effective ways for us to get in trouble with the NCAA.

We shouldn't hire Pearl for the same reason we shouldn't hold a graphite fly rod up in an electrical storm. I don't need to try it to know that I don't need to try it.

Memphis is a better program, no doubt. BUT, Auburn isn't as bad as people think. They'll pay him whatever he wants as long as he wins - and outside of UK (who he has already beaten) no one in the SEC is any good. He can compete in a Power 5 conference, get paid like a boss, and football will keep the pressure off him. He's already recruiting at Auburn, building something...why leave that for less $ in an inferior conference with more pressure??

I can't speak to that. But I do know that there isn't a realistic amount of money we would offer BP that Auburn can't/won't match.

Not a Pearl fan; can we just trade coaches, and even up the buy outs?
