Much needed win. Shaq and Caupain showed with big nights. Ellis big in final moments.

Another fun game. The cats have been entertaining to watch this year.

RE: Memphis @ UC Thread
Saw pieces of the game in the first half... (I was out at a dinner meeting at a steak-house that had it on a TV over the bar.) I was dismayed at how UC kept pulling out to 7 points lead and then I'd turn around...look back at the TV...and suddenly Memphis was even again.
I'm glad we got the win. Wish we could extend a lead and stick the dagger in. But a win is a win.
Oh, yeah... Second on the comment about not having to endure the Memphidiots...

Up 4 and you get to run 30 seconds off the clock with under a minute left? I love Josh Pastner.
Great game by the Cats. Shaq and Caupain won this one, Ellis was big down the stretch. Had to have it and they got it. On to the next must win.

Gritty performance and a much needed win. Memphis in the open court can be something to behold--excellent quickness. UC kept that in check most of the night and Caupain, Ellis, and Thomas were excellent.
Postgame, the ESPN announcers were talking about the possibility of SMU coming into 5th/3rd undefeated for the last game of the season. If that happens, I really like the 'Cats playing the spoiler in that one. If UC is on the bubble at that point it would definitely put an exclamation point on this season.

Glad I got to see KMart tonight, that was the highlight of the night. Also finally a good performance by the Bearcats, probably Shaq's best game of his career.

A lot of Bearcat legends in the house last night: Kenyon, Blount, Mel Levitt, Terry Nelson and Bobby Brannen.

Shaq does seem to flourish in games against more up tempo teams or teams that want to be up tempo. That said UC really needs him to step up test of way

How many times are we going to say "Shaq needs to step it up". I still say he should get limited minutes. He does good things but then follows them up with three times as many dumb plays/mistakes. He had some really awful shots last night. He has no business doing a 'shake-n-bake' at the three point line, taking a step inside the line and launching an off balance shot all in one move. Lazelle Durden or Steve Logan would have trouble with that shot.

I disagree. He was 8-11 from the field, grabbed 6 rebounds, and had a key block late. Every player on this team will take an ill advised shot or two when putting up 11 shots. I love Evans potential but he hasn't done anything since the calendar flipped.

Part of what makes Bearcat basketball special--great players from the past in the arena who still care about their University and are engaged with the program. Arguably, two of the three greatest Bearcats ever (Oscar, Kenyon) both in the house the same night.
With all due respect, some of the hot new brand basketball programs can't touch what we have. As an alumnus and fan, it's great to be a part of it all. Go Bearcats!

Eric Hicks was in the house last night too. Plus Meacham, he's kind of a Bearcat legend in his own right.

Really would like to see Mick bring in a Martin or Hicks as a coach. Wouldn't be surprised if he reached out to K-Mart and he wasn't interested since if he was smart with his money, he should never have to work again. I'm not sure if Hicks is still playing overseas (Guessing not), so would be great to bring him in.

I talked to Hicks last night. He is still playing but said he would be retiring soon. He said his knees hurt.
I asked what he would do then. He said he has start a couple of businesses and will be taking care of them.
