It does not change my thinking on my comment, in general the more comfortable you are financially the more comfortable you often are addressing issues. Race/other human attributes is not a comfortable topic to discuss. What is unknown is how many boycotted due to fear of being singled out versus guilt for being a bigot.

I don't feel bad about being white considering white people have discovered more and invented more than anyone else. You're welcome for smartphones, toilets, automobile, bicycles, steam engines, light bulbs, harnessing electricity, most of the most beautiful architecture ever created, democracy as a political concept, etc. Thank you white people.

If I was an African-American with roots in slavery I would be so ******* offended a bunch of nattering nabobs of white negativism chained themselves together in some sort of quasi-apology from people who had nothing to do with slavery, apologizing to black people not in slavery.

There are real problems in this world. To progressive Portland liberals the American Dream might consist of an associates degree in sociology from PCC to get a job working in a cubicle for a Save the Wales non-profit so they can live in a converted warehouse and ride Light Rail to work, but that is not what African-American's are prioritizing.
