Atlanta was 8-1 in their last 9 games (with critical wins over the Pistons and Pacers) prior to this evening. That is not a slide, that is damned good results in a playoff run.

Bazemore played poorly this evening, and has been more inconsistent over that last 10. Scoring average and shooting % are down. Bone bruise has hurt him, but seems more rushed in his passes/shots than when he was rolling. Hoping that gets better soon. Minutes are down as a result, and Hardaway/Sefalosha benefitting. This needs to stop, but Baze needs to play better to do just that. His two TOs were UNI-esque.

I'm trying to go to the Wizards/Hawks game tomorrow night in DC. I hope he gets to play! I would love to see him play again even though I would want the Hawks to lose lol

I think what's troubling is the emergence of Hardaway is is very productive on offense. I am wondering if Bazes' late season slide (injured or not) is decreasing his value. I hope not.

Poor production certainly isn't going to benefit him any for this season or his future. In addition to any injuries that might be slowing down his production, I also wonder if his increased playing time this season is taking a physical or mental toll on him. He has never played this many minutes in a season before at any level. Could be his new girlfriend is creating just enough of a distraction to cause some difference in his play similar to what we saw happen with Laughton about 10 years ago. I realize that we can't definitively make that correlation, but still it is a possibility that it contributed to his (Laughton's) drop in production.

I was at the game tonight....he did not look great on the court. In warmup he played very well and was stroking shots with regularity. But, in the game did not play well at all. 11 minutes of play. Started both halves, but was quickly pulled in each and never game back.

Looks like an injury thing to me.

Thanks for giving us that first hand report MonarchManiac. I saw that he had only played 11 minutes and was wondering if he had sustained an injury during the game that caused him to come out. I hope he gets this turned around quickly and finishes the season strong.

I think coach Bud is trying to give Hardaway some experience with team chemistry, that's all. Remember last year hawks had some bad injuries during playoffs. This year they are good if bazemore, kover or any other big men goes down cause sefolosa, hardaway and humphries will step up. I see Bazemore getting his minutes back soon. Also btw Hardaway went 2-8 from 3. So he's not going to be that consistence like he was for the past 2 games.

It looks like KB is heading in the right direction. After scoring 9 last night he had 17 tonight against the Pistons on 7-9 shooting, 3-5 from deep. The Hawks won 112-95.

Kent has been dating his girlfriend since he was with the Lakers, so I wouldn't consider her a "new" girlfriend. He was just in a shooting slump. He played well last night.

I thought his girlfriend was his girlfriend even when he was still at ODU. Unless it's a newer one. Wasn't she a cheerleader or dancer for ODU?

He had a good line last night. 17 points, 2 asst, 4 rbs, and a steal against Detroit.

He averages just over 1 steal a game. Thought that # would be higher.

"New" is always a relative term. In this case I meant it as being somewhat recent as in last couple of years. We are all hoping that a shooting slump is all that it is and that his recent poor performances don't have any underlying reasons that will cause them to continue. Glad to see that he had a nice game last night and hope it continues.
