ODU
ODU (9-7) is 8-0 at home this season. They were undefeated at home last season.
They have two good wins this season - a 71-65 victory over Rhode Island (61 KenPom rating), and a road win at LaTech (126). Four of their wins were against teams with ratings worse than 300.
They have one really bad loss - the road loss at USM (316).
KenPom favors ODU (104) over UAB (105), 66-63.
Including this season, last season, and the 2014 season, ODU has won 32 consecutive home games (if I counted correctly).
Attendance was 6,733 at their last home game.

RE: ODU
ODU will remember us lighting them up last season at Bartow. We'll have to bring it.
81-68
UAB shot 70% FG, 71% 3pt, & 92% FT for the game. We made them look like UTSA.

RE: ODU
This is going to be a tough road test.
Say what we want to about attendance, Bartow has been loud this season. The increase in crowd pleasing plays might have something to do with it (I remember in the MD days when hitting a 3 was what we had to look forward to). I'm sure that environment, with the crowd behind you, is a large part of why our Birmingham win streak is where it is. Also why we can't hardly get anyone to come play us in Bartow.

This is toughest game left on our schedule IMO. ODU is flawed but they are very good at home. Winning these next two would be HUGE.[/

RE: ODU
UAB has three players who have made at least 20 three-pointers. ODU has zero, although Aaron Bacote has 19.
ODU's go-to players are Trey Freeman (6-2 180) and Aaron Bacote (6-4 190). They are both seniors.
Freeman: FT 54-71 76%, 2PT 91-201 45%, 3PT 15-45 33%
Bacote: FT 68-85 80%, 2PT 59-116 51%, 3PT 19-51 37%
Freeman has 201 2PA. Cokley has attempted 153 2-pointers.

This strength is they are very good at home. Their weakness is they are pretty terrible on the road. I haven't really watched them too closely but they seem to be pretty good defensively and somewhat limited offesively. I think a high scoring game benefits us.

I'm writing a detailed article on ODU that I'll post Wednesday AM.

This game will be good for building toughness, but I fully expect our ticket to the dance has to be punched at Legacy Arena.

Brandon Stith injured his knee back in early December. However, he has played the last seven games. He played 24 minutes in Hattiesburg last Saturday.
Stith is 6-7, 240, So.

Son of Virginia's all time leading scorer, Bryant Stith, who played 10 years in the NBA and is currently an assistant coach at ODU. Brandon Stith played his freshman year at ECU.
Speaking of ecu... SJ assured me they would pass us in basketball(better recruits and facilities). and Haase was a terrible coach. I wonder how that's working out for them?

i assume they'll have at least 3 players that will hit at least 6 3's against us

I noticed on the AAC board that ECU fans are calling for the great Jeff Lebo's head.
But he was the greatest coach in the world! He won the cit and had the most artificial 20 win season I've ever seen.
