All twenty-two are in, I believe. More recruits in February.

We should find out who the 2 final hires are soon too (3 counting the S&C coach).

S&C got me all nervous...

Currently we have 70 players. Not all are scholarshipped.

Correct around 70 total to go into spring.

Feb 18th cant get here soon enough for me.

I know the FB building will take some time. However, will these kids have a safe field to practice on this spring? I saw a couple of old articles dug up on Facebook about the turf, hoping that's not a smoke signal for any more shenanigans.

Yes, but they won't hit campus until Summer. Most of those signees will be high school kids.

We got another transfer today. DB from Louisville. Duke Culver.

Culver is a former 3 star recruit out of HS, rated 38th CB in the 2014 class. Cornerback. Will come in as a JR. Played in 9 games and recorded 10 tackles as a sophomore.

So we have fourteen 3 star and two 4 star players already on this roster, with the addition of Elliot Davis, James Davis and Duke Culver, all 3 stars. We still have LSU DT Bain and safety Earl Chambers, both highly rated, waiting to sign in Feb, plus the unknown list of HS players in Feb that includes Tyler Marshall and AL Player of the Year Tyler Johnston.

Clark seems to be a decent recruiter. This return to the field in 2017 might work out OK for UAB.

In terms of talent on paper, assuming everyone we've got now and that will sign hit the field in 2017, we will be as talented as we have ever been. Now the issue will be whether all these players make it til then and then getting Clark to form a cohesive team out of them. I'm less worried about Clark because I think he will get the team chemistry figured out. Just have to hope we don't have any snags with the folks we've signed and will sign.

I know the players will be ready to hit people besides their own teammates. But the team will get really familiar with who they are facing in practice, so the coaches will have to figure out how to keep things new each week this fall.

The starters & scout team players start picking up tendencies of guys they see every day in practice... keeping these guys on their toes for a whole season facing no new competition will be the key to success in 2016.
