Country singer Doug Supernaw dead at 60 from cancer. He ad been battling it for a while.

I played golf with him a time or two at old Inwood Forest GC, which is unfortunately gone too. He and his sister, particularly his sister, were excellent golfers.

This is a 73-year-old Bangladeshi who was a former freedom fighter and lawmaker.

The U.S. boxer Muhammad Ali (nee Cassius Clay) -- who spoke at Wiess College on Jan. 20, 1967, prior to his February 6 fight against Ernie Terrell in the Astrodome) -- died on June 3, 2016.

I was there and remember it very well. I also know the back story of how and why it came about.

What I read said he was 67 and died of complications from dementia. So young. Sad.

RIP Mr. Ketchum!

In my kind of football, Chrisophe Domenici, France rugby winger, dead at 48. Little guy but could really run. Set up the first score with a long dash from midfield for 31-1/2 point underdogs (and 16-1 straight up) France in the 1999 World Cup semifinals, and scored to put them ahead to stay in the second half.

One of my favorite sports column leads from the next day, "Memo to self: 16-1 are always good odds in a two-horse race."

Interesting!

Come to think of it, that same technical challenge could shut down most of the Quad.

I will leave it to others to assess whether that would be a bug or a feature. 03-wink

Dave Prowse, Actor Who Played Darth Vader, Dies at 85

The real voice of Darth Vader...listen to what he could have sounded like had they kept Dave Prowse's voice instead of dubbing in James Earl Jones:

Interesting...he could have chosen to play Chewbacca instead, but chose to play Darth Vader because he felt people "always remembered the bad guys."

Hannifan Dead at 87

Quote:Hanifan was an assistant coach and then head coach for the St. Louis Football Cardinals, segments that covered 12 seasons. Ten years later, following coaching stints in Washington and Atlanta, Hanifan returned as a coach for the Rams, helping St. Louis to its first and only Super Bowl title.
