You have a sensitive definition of the term "trolling".

Uhh, he posted a thread on the WMU board titled "WMU isn't that good this year", or something like that. What purpose is there to do that other than to ruffle some feathers? Hence the term "trolling".

I checked it out. The thread was started by the WMU posters questioning whether NIU is good or not. Luckeyone weighed in with his prediction of the NIU and WMU conference record- both were reasonable predictions. I think it is questionable if that is trolling.

Further, is he trolling the EMU board? He is a very dedicated EMU fan who has some criticisms- albeit excessive ones. Nonetheless, I think many would not regard that as trolling either, however disagreeable it is to them.

if you go to the WMU basketball board the top thread as of 10:51am on friday, Jan 8 was started by Luckeyone and is titled "WMU is not good at basketball". the google definition of online trolling is "make a deliberately offensive or provocative online posting with the aim of upsetting someone or eliciting an angry response from them.". i don't care that he posted. i'm not upset. it doesn't affect me in any way. but that fits the exact definition of trolling.

Funny thread.

Anyone trying to hype ticket sales for the first EMU / WMU game? 03-lmfao

First, I was commenting on the accusation of trolling that was issued by Sam prior to this thread you are now citing. So my statement stands, PARTICULARLY in light of the definition of trolling you provided.

Second, according to your definition of trolling, Sam's accusation that Luckeyone is trolling is in itself trolling.

Dude, my post was about the EXACT thread that Aaron referenced. But whatever...we are making this a way bigger deal than it actually is. Just found his "trolling" (or whatever word you want to use for it) funny. Forget I said anything.

Ok, now that the extremely important issue that Sam and I were discussing is settled?
On to more important things.

By what margin will EMU beat N Illinois

It'll be a tight one. If we can really lock down on D and contain Maric, which largely depends on Thompson staying out foul trouble, I see us picking up a 5ish point win. Thankfully Thompson has been smarter about going straight up and preventing the ticky-tac calls.

What has EMU proven this season to constitute a guaranteed victory tomorrow night?

Nothing. A fan's just giving an optimistic comment to rekindle discussion of the game. I don't think any of us think it'll be easy.

It should be a really good game between two very comparable teams. Thankfully the comparison is not related to both schools not being able to score like it was in the past!

Ray,

As much as I would love for a 2-0 start on the road, that is almost unheard of this day and age. I watched NIU play OSU and it was a battle to the end. NIU was very patient on offense which worries me because that is the achilles heel against a zone defense. Plus NIU is pretty deep. If we run up tempo then the game is in our favor. I was smiling when Raven Lee started against CMU and then unloaded his arsenal of moves...... I know you were smiling too. If EMU can run up tempo offense and run structure by setting screens for their shooters (Lee, Price, Mangum) then our chances increase. My prediction:

My Heart: EMU 72 NIU 70
My Head: NIU 68 EMU 60

I hope my heart is right!!!!

Go EMU!

Frank, thanks for clarifying for me. Indeed, the reality is this game worries me. MAC road games are never easy, and N. Illinois is looking especially good this year.

As far as close games, I feel like most of EMU's games they either really take off sometime in the second half or they are completely out of it by half time. I am expecting either of these two scenarios in the NIU game, rather than a close game. Just my hunch.

Amen on the scoring. These two teams INABILITY to score was bad in general,, but has been particulary so when they play each other.

Congratulations on the 11-2 start (yes, there were some patsies But good performance overall). Good luck to you guys in the game and remaining season.

These two are exceptional. Notice in the CMU game how many times Lee touch the ball in many of the half court sets. Seemed to go pass to Lee pass to Mangum pass to Lee pass to Bond pass to Lee pass to price. I think they should do similar sets with Thompson every so often.

Some MAC hoops going on tonight: Buffalo-Kent tied 34-34 at half. Meanwhile, WMU has their hands full in Akron, behind 23-11 with 8:00 left in the 1st half.

WMU loses 62-53, but my goodness Thomas Wilder had a night. 26 points, and really the only thing that kept Western from being blown out.

He was impressive last year...you could tell he had a bright future ahead of them. Everything else on WMU looks pretty blah right now. Seth Dugan looks like he has a long way to go...
