RE: JMU at Delaware
Was planning on being at the game with my son and then got a flat on 95 heading down to UD. Luckily had dvr'd the game so I could watch.
Weird game, but we were obviously the better team. I think Dalembert is worried about reinjuring his knee and that is really affecting his game. Just look at FT's to see it is mental. He has been an ok shooter from the line the last few years, like 65% or so and this year he is shooting like 33%. You don't regress like that for any other reason than you are in your head.

A flat tire takes no more than 10 minutes. Next...

RE: JMU at Delaware
Some impressions from watching the Dukes live yesterday- this team has good size- Satkius and Serb have really put the work in in the weight room in addition to on the court.
At one point Brady played a big lineup of Curry, Kent, Brown, Dimitre, and YoYo- when Kent is playing well that's probably a tough team for most CAA teams to match up with.
I think the formula for this team is to play solid defense/ie don't get beat for easy shots (mix of man and zone), rebound well off the opponent's misses, limit turnovers, and shoot a decent percentage from 3.
They probably are never going to be ultra fluid, they don't play above the rim, press to cause turnovers, and they don't have a sure thing down low but that's ok. They can win a lot of games if they play with that formula- because they go 9-10 deep and have 4-5 guys who can shoot the 3.

The game never was close yesterday beyond the slow start. This team has a lot of shooting options. Kent, Grays and Curry were all on yesterday. Serb made a few and Brown made one. It was obvious UD game planned to take away Browns open looks. Had Kent and Gray not shot well, that plan would have worked.
Too many turnovers again. They were forcing passes into the post trying to get Yo Yo some looks. Yo Yo played one of his worst games since becoming a Duke. Hands of stone yesterday.
UD plays physical and as others have said, that seems to rattle the Dukes at times.
Curry continues to impress. He has really grown as a player. He too forced some passes but the rest of his game is solid. Brown did not look good yesterday. He and Curry are likely to draw the opposing teams best defenders each game so he better get use to be defended tightly and figure out how to get open looks.
JMU as a whole needs to pull up for the 8 foot jumper in the lane. It is there almost every time. Players are dribbling into traffic near the basket and having to shoot heavily contested 3-4 footers when an uncontested 8 footer is available.

RE: JMU at Delaware
I thought that JMU looked good yesterday, save the last two minutes of the game, when the lead shrunk from 19 points to 10. DE is the type of team that JMU will excel against because their perimeter defense isn't great. The Dukes' strength is their three-point shooting. Believe Feinstein said they're 27th in the country in made threes per game. Their achilles heel is turnovers, which in part may stem from forcing the ball inside at times, along with several unforced turnovers. Kent played his best game as a Duke yesterday....he was terrific. Brown has really tailed off, as defenses focus more on stopping him. Dalembert and Vodo's play are areas of concern for Brady, as per the announcers.
