2005: WVU (beat SEC champ)
2006: Boise (beat B12 champ)
2007: WVU (beat B12 champ)
2008: Utah (beat SEC)
2009: Boise
2010: TCU (beat B1G champ)
2011: WVU (beat ACC champ)
2012: Louisville (beat SEC)
2013: UCF (beat B12 champ)

Really can't put the old BIG EAST wins on that since they were part of the P5 Club and received the same revenue every year from the old BCS System as the current P5

Objectively, what you say is true. But, the way those games were viewed is the way i depict them. For example, in 2005 and 2007, WVU's wins over Georgia and Oklahoma were regarded as big upsets, just as surprising as Houston beating FSU, if anything moreso. The Big East was regarded as the runt of the BCS litter, as not being a "real" AQ league, and its champ was usually denigrated.
The one exception would be Louisville's 2006 Orange Bowl win over a Cinderella Wake Forest team. UofL was the clear favorite in that game.

Eh still, even if it was viewed as the weakest of the bunch, the old Big East was still considered a power conference during that span.

WVU in 2007 was considered an upset mainly because RichRod had left them...remember if they would have hit a FG against Pitt they would have played Ohio State for the BCS Title that year...their loss allowed Florida in that game and the Gators won the title.
Yesterday really wasn't a big upset with Houston vs. FSU...Michigan State was a bigger underdog to Bama....Sparty was a double digit underdog...Houston was a 6 point underdog.

It WAS a power conference during that span, officially and legally. But it was not 'considered' to be a power conference. Once Miami and VT left, the other AQ conferences looked down at the Big East as a lesser league, not at the same level of quality. They tried for years to figure out how to demote the Big East but the contracts were ironclad until the BCS agreements expired. That's just how it was.
Beyond that, my point was about conferences outside the current P5 - the ACC, SEC, B1G, B12, and PAC - beating those 5 conferences. And power or not, the Big East was not one of those five conferences.
FWIW, WVU was an 11-point dog to Georgia and an 8-point dog to Oklahoma. Houston was a 7-point dog to FSU.

That's a difference between now and the BCS: Under the BCS system, the Cinderella non-power school that broke into the BCS usually got to play the Champion of a Power conference, a real chance to make a statement. When Boise beat Oklahoma in 2006 and TCU beat Wisconsin in 2010, they beat the Big 12 and B1G champs. Even in 2013, UCF beat Big 12 champ Baylor.
But with the CFP, the G5 team will always play a Power team that isn't a champion. Those champions will either be in the playoff games, or else will be in a Contract bowl.
The G5 team, stuck in an Access slot, will not get to play a P5 champ. Heck, Houston beat the 3rd place ACC team yesterday.

Mark Packer of college sports radio sent me an email apology after WVU a s s raped Clemson in 2011.
He told me that no way WVU could beat Clemson.

That's the way it was in the old Big East. Even after Big East teams had won several BCS games, nobody gave the Big East rep a chance and it was always considered a Big Shock when the Big East team won.

One thing that really stands out is the abismal performance of former big east schools now that they arent in the same conference.
No former big east school will finished ranked in the top 25
Astonishing

In reality if you actually look at those rosters it should not have been considered an upset....I will use Louisville win over then #3 Florida...look at that Louisville Starting Lineup the Cardinals lineup more NFL players and now NFL Starters than the Gators...yet Louisville was a 14 point underdog.

Houston > FSU: For the 12th straight year ...
Before the game all I heard was how Houston couldn't compete wth FSU and how they would lose by 21 points or more. Likewise Dalvin Cook would be unstoppable. Now the game is over and you got your head handed to you it is no longer an upset.
What a bunch of hypocrites. The real story is that the so called G5 has won about 75% of these games against the mighty P5 but it swept under the rug. It doesn't sound like such a big gap to me between the best of the G5 and the P5 nor does it look like it on the field.

Yes, FSU is a solid hell of a good team with so many All American players but in football Houston is incredibly better, hands down.
Oh and next season X 2 Houston

Well, the betting line was 7 points so you weren't listening to everybody.
The job Houston did on Cook was fantastic. Nobody had shut him out like that all year. Alabama-esque.

Correct, but that reinforces my point: Even though there was a lot of objective evidence - results on the field, computer rankings - that said the Big East was a legitimate Power conference, once Miami and VT left the general national fan and media perception was that the Big East was a lesser league and its champ not worthy of prime-time exposure.
And that continued to the very end, even after the Big East had won several BCS bowl games.

That I agree with you on...but really at this point if you're in the American the goal is to dominate the Access Slot and win at least half those games...maybe you can turn that into a better TV Deal later.
