Bowls/Bodies
Unless I'm seeing things, it looks like the Peach Bowl is the first one so far to actually have bodies in the seats -- maybe even a full house. Many of the bowls have had far more empty seats than occupied ones. What's the deal with 40 bowls and more likely being added next year?

I think one of the reasons may be tv.

TV is where these empty seats are so pronounced, even with good camera trickery. And, I'm reading where schools are losing money going to these empty stadiums to play. What's the incentive, TV exposure under these conditions?

Espn owns many of these bowls & espn also essentially owns the Ncaa. It all comes down to money. It's not about the players, schools, or tickets sold. It's all about the mothership having guaranteed programming and ad revenue. FBS football is but a shell game.

OK, it's Clemson and Alabama for the national title. What's these other bowls sandwiched in between their bowl wins and the title game supposed to mean?

I'll bet the show/no show ratio for the FCS title game is much higher than many of the FBS bowl games -- with that 20,500 seat stadium looking much better on TV full than several of those virtually empty bowl stadiums. For real, them NDSU folks travel well.

This is why I don't understand schools like App State and Ga Southern moving up. Instead of participating in an exciting playoff system, their big goal becomes playing in a crap bowl on December 22. I don't get it.
