RE: Trojans-Jags Game report
You're right about our shooting, but remember, we're playing all these games on the road. We'll probably shoot a lot better on our home court. I heard one of the basketball analysts say that your shooting doesn't always go on the road with you, but you can always count on your defense.

Trojans-Jags Game report
Walk on Ben Marcus got to make the trip although he did not play. Also Green made the trip although he was not in uniform. Was a day those 2 would have been left at home for road trips. Glad they got to come.

RE: Trojans-Jags Game report
Here's what I have determined. We're not taking a lot of shots when you look at the stats. But remember. We're playing all these games on the road. And I think the strategy on the road is to shorten the game. Take time off the shot clock. This keeps the other team from going on a run and getting the crowd into the game. If I'm correct in my analysis, we'll take more shots, and play a little more up tempo when we get home. When you're at home, you want your home crowd to get into the game, but on the road you want to keep them out of it. And I believe Coach Beard is utilizing that strategy. And it's working. We're winning on the road. Big time.

If your team is disciplined enough to take good shots, then shortening the game is always a good idea. If you shoot a better percentage and have low turnovers, you will win most of the time. We generally get beat on the boards, but we control those other factors.

Defense wins on the road. In the second half we held them to 30% overall and 27% from the arc.
