NCAA WB Power Rankings
Toledo had the number nine SOS in the nation entering last night's game and number 21 leaving it. Only one other MAC team was in the top 100 @ 94. They project us to win 17 games. Frankly, I'll be surprised if we get twelve conference wins but I had no idea we'd played that difficult a schedule.

12 conference wins this season would be a very pleasant surprise. I think we'll struggle a bit against some other MAC teams inside. May be a different story next season if Dorr, McIntyre & Kessler continue to improve & can give Reecher more help, but for now we're a bit under-sized in my opinion.

That SOS surprised me as well, although of course it dropped after last night as Arkansas-Pine Bluff was way outclassed. Listening to the first 6 games I thought that all except Notre Dame and Dayton were winnable. Just based on those games perhaps I just underestimated both the Rockets and those 4 opponents as several have done well since that time.

In any event, the Ladies have certainly turned their season around after the 0-6 start. We may get a better idea of how they stack up with the next game against Ball State and Fontaine where a UT win would have to be considered a significant upset at this point.

We are undersized, but I think we can get away with that against a lot of MAC teams. Not many MAC teams have a legitimate post player who is an offensive threat. I agree, though, that you have identified our biggest weakness. Based on her high school career and her showing this year in the few opportunities she's gotten, McIntyre could change that down the road.

Ball State will provide a great early measuring stick. They're loaded. If we can give them a battle on their home court, I'll be encouraged.

I'm a bit worried about waning interest in the women's program. I haven't seen numbers, but attendance seems off.

3860 last night, 3930 average. Aided by a couple doubleheaders but above last year's average, I believe. Quick check shows we are even with, or ahead of, seasons going back to 2012 when we averaged just over 4,000.

Great, I'm glad the numbers prove me wrong on this.
