Monty appears to be turning things around
Finally, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Monty has brought in the most talented team is years. They are young but will develop. I see NIU rising above doormat in MAC. The two part question that I would like to ask Monty...
Did you think the turnaround would take so long and do you think you would still be coaching at NIU and not at a more prominent D1 program?

MM may be here a total of 7 years before or if he gets a call.

I believe injuries have been the greatest factor in regards to how long it has taken. That's just my opinion and I know it means nothing because I am just a fan and not a basketball coach!

Agreed. It seems that (and I know people hate this) but Highsmith could have had a big impact his freshman year like Wilson is so far. Bowie last year too could have been a lot healthier, he played hurt a lot. Several smaller injuries added up and its unfortunate because we haven't had that depth until now.
