This is a staff that has found it's sweetspot. All they have to do is be good enough to beat the dregs of the conference every year, toss in a FCS cupcake auto-win - Boom! extention through 2022.

trust me, southern miss fans understand what you're saying about being mired in mediocrity....those were bower's final years at the helm....there is no doubting it's a catch-22 within the psyche of a fan base....

however, lil' stock might become a bit better than good....he looks like a jr already....if he doesn't produce big things his jr/sr seasons, it would be time to pull the trigger on wholesale changes...

Anyone who thinks we will compete for a conference title got a preview of what our defense will look like next year without TT and one of our best defensive linemen. Oh and just think if Byard would not have been on the field because he will be in the league next year.

Our defense is going to look like wkcc circa 2014 next year.

Hit the JUCOs for a couple of players. Could make all the difference.

We won the 2009 bowl due to 3 people, Manny Diaz, Tony Franklin, and Dwight Dasher. None of that success had anything to do with Stock. We have stalled and until Stock is gone, nothing will change that. I'm sick of this "6 wins in the conference and you get a raise" BS. It should be "win a bowl game and you get a raise." Absolutely pathetic coaching staff all the way around. Disappointed doesn't even cover it. We have the talent and I am not blaming any player on this one. This is and has been poor and conservative coaching.

MT fans, yes you lost, but you didn't embarrass CUSA. You played tough til the end, and got beat, no shame in that.

As for the future, I think you guys are going to win the division at least once over the next 3 years. Your FR QB and WR are true studs. Don't freak out if one of them hits a bit of a sophomore slump next year, in the long run, the rest of us are going to be glad to see them leave in 3 years.

It doesn't matter anymore but G cut Bower off at the knees on his recruiting budget. I am too old to argue but after a few vodkas I figured I would pop in. It doesn't matter because USM seems to have a better admin that which we have missed since 2000.

Merry Christmas

In Jeff's next to last year he won 9 games and went to the CUSA Championship game. That was in a far different CUSA than now. Sorry, he wasn't mediocre in all his final years.

I remember a certain 5 star wide out saying he didn't consider us before the coaching change because the old staff didn't even try because they thought they couldn't compete with SEC teams.

Which coach actually beat SEC teams? What was the best win loss record team that 5 star receiver played on? The last 7 years of Bower USM won 52 games. In the seven years since Bower USM has won 47 games. So how is USM ahead since firing Bower?
