2016 College Baseball Preseason Polls
And, as usual, Collegiate Baseball is the first out of the gate...

I'm usually very critical of Collegiate Baseball's rankings, but I thought they did an excellent job on this one-- from top to bottom.
#20 Rice is the only CUSA school cracking their Top 40, but others receiving votes included FAU and USM.

I have long argued that, but unfortunately, Rice University and Rice Athletics are better off in the MWC or AAC as a stepping stone to a future P5 re-entry.
With regards to baseball, Rice' out-of-conference schedule-- always one of the toughest in college baseball-- will usually enable us to sustain a quality RPI. We learned this lesson during our early years in the WAC. This year, for example, Rice plays 19 OOC games against projected Top 50 opponents: Houston x 3, ECU x 3, UCF x 3, TCU x 2, Sam Houston State x 2, Texas State x 2, ULaLa, Texas A&M, Arkansas and Dallas Baptist.
