That is better than any of Georgia State's home games in the same stadium.

http://gridironperspective.com/2015/12/2...snt-great/

The total attendance for the Cure Bowl between Georgia State and San Jose State was over 18,000, but the pictures on the site shows that it may have been under 10,000. Sadly, even HBCUs schools draw more fans than Georgia State and San Jose State.

Yes, 35K is obviously an exaggeration.

But the game was a barn-burner.

Lol, compare that against the San Jose State and Georgia State game photos of the stands? More people were at the Celebration Bowl than Cure Bowl.

It could be they counted all the tickets sold to the game. Not how many actually showed up.

Obviously they counted only tickets sold, not used.

And make fun of the Cure Bowl on another thread, if you want.

It was a fun game to watch though.

They obviously hired Tulane or Rice's bean counters.

He's probably just airing some frustrations that the race card gets played without much rationale and logic, at least in his view.

Get in before the lock, given the way this post will divert the thread.

RE: Congratulations to NC A&T
There were 35k at the game a vast majority of the were Alcorn fans. The cameras look like they were facing A&Ts side of the dome. I was very disappointed in the number of fans that came down with A&T. Alcorn came the furthest distance and made up about 60% of the crowd. Also great representation from other HBCU alums as well.

I didn't watch much of this game, but what I did see was not high quality football.

I doubt either of these teams would have much success in the DII playoff bracket. But that said, why are most of the athletic departments in the SWAC and MEAC allowed to be in DI, in the first place??

They must have some of the lowest budgets in DI.

Dude.

Yes? Did you have something to contribute?

Or do you think that SWAC athletic departments with DII budgets should get to be in DI because ... you know ...

Stupid belief. HBCUs must stand or fall on their own. If they are standing, that must be because they are serving a market.

So you're saying HBU's aren't currently being propped up by more than their fair share of state funding, via the threat of the race card?

Why are there HBCU's? Because sadly, there are HWCU's (Historically White Colleges and Universities).
