RE: 12-19-15 basketball action
You don't see Rice fans crowing too much about C-USA baseball teams in this forum. And yes, I understand that C-USA is a slightly better baseball conference than basketball conference, but largely because of us.. I root for ODU to win in the non-con, and actually agree that the conference needs to schedule better, but I guess the fans who talk down to other schools get to me.. Especially when ODU performs badly. Whatever.. Go Owls, Go Monarchs, Go CUSA!!

He is, took over the lead after Thursday's games and held it last night.

Imagine the outrage in Albuquerque caused by losing to Rice.
Lobos' chances of getting an at-large bid just took a significant hit.
True.
And Rice's at-large chances jumped up from statistically 0.00 to at least 0.01% now!
Although I'm really rooting for LaTech to get the elusive CUSA at-large bid this year.

No doubt, it rubs most people the wrong way. And It wasn't just one thread or post, it was multiple threads and posts over the whole off-season about how other CUSA teams prevented ODU from getting into the NCAA.
It was bogus theory to begin with because ODU couldn't win an away conference game and got bounced in the first quarterfinal game of the conference tourney. And now that they have to play those OOC away games this year vs playing at home last year, we are seeing what kind of team ODU really is.

Hey look - I didn't even need to read the post to know that this dude would be talking ODU again. I think he has a condition.

Are you serious, have you read any off-season hoops thread? Now don't write a check with your mouth that you can't cash. + on the ignore list

It doesn't change the fact that this basketball conference sucks
Sounds pretty much exactly like what I'd write about this sorry basketball league.
Still waiting for someone to tell me how this basketball conference DOESN'T suck
This basketball conference is weak
Our conference right now is pretty terrible. Not sure what is so inflammatory about that?
Most of the schools in CUSA don't take basketball seriously, so why should ESPN, or anybody else, take the conference seriously?
It doesn't take much to see the commitment of some of the lower level schools in this conference. Look at their facilities, look at their fanbase, look at the (lack of) butts in seats, look at their recruiting, look at their fundraising. It's plain as day. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to see the difference between lets say a Charlotte vs. a FIU.
This league has a lot of work to do to improve it's standing in men's basketball. But nothing will change until RPI becomes a serious number to more member schools.
The fact remains that several CUSA teams need to take hoops more seriously, and schedule smarter and teams with better RPIs.

So where did anybody blame the conference for us not getting into the dance last year?
edit: apparently Dawgxas doesn't have a reply because he edited his original post to add the fact that I was now on his ignore list. anyway
double edit: what kind of chickenshit trolls an entire fanbase then puts them on ignore?

Every fanbase cries about dumb crap sometimes. I could likely pull 100+ quotes from La. Tech fans crying endlessly about the tournament being in Birmingham last season and how unfair it was and how mean ole ' traitorous football-dropping UAB stole their NCAA tourney bid. Honestly who cares.

Troll of the highest order.....Here's some stats:
He has 1491 posts as of right now....If you search his post history, 390 of those 1491 have the word ODU in them...thats a full 27 percent. So over a quarter of his posts are in regards to ODU in some way shape or form.
What a troll.
