I believe NIU is 1-0 when Beth Mowins is our announcer. She did the game when we destroyed Purdue. And we might be 2-0 all time with female play by play announcers, as Pam Ward did our 2004 Silicon Valley Bowl win over Troy.

Maybe it's just me, but a woman's voice doing play by play/color for football just feels out of place for me.

It's not about their qualifications. They can have all the knowledge, done their homework...stats etc ...but for me it's like "nails on a chalkboard".

And yet, the female sideliners I'm fine with.

What ever happened to Pam Ward? I thought that she called a good game and gave NIU a ton of respect in the Silicon Valley Bowl.

For the record I have no issues with female announcers. Mowins I just can't stand. When it was her a Joey Galloway doing games, it had to be one of the worst combos calling a game.

Most announcers are pretty bad. I know I dislike ONE of the female play by play announcers...but I forget which one. But I'm picky. It just bugs me that people can't seem to handle a lady talking football unless she's hot. I'm not accusing you, just generalizing. Fans need to be better.

I can't wait until women climb up the coaching ranks. The fans will really show their ignorance.

I was hoping for Al Michaels but I guess that's not happening.
