Interesting thing is NDState game had a really good crowd. Doesn't mean anything, just interesting that ND state can pack the place.

North Dakota still hasn't discovered High Definition Television yet.

ISU isnt a football school period. Im not shocked. Richmond doesnt pack the place either, Ive been there. Its FCS football.

ISU is excited about Doug Collins jock strap and whatever basketball team they roll out its been that way a long long time.

I will say that people don't get scared on the campus visits at ISU like they do at NIU. Also Blo-NO isnt a complete dump like dekalb.

Can't count how many times I've been back to DeKalb the last several years and I've never been scared.

The ISU campus has a higher violent crime rate than NIU's. Substantially higher, actually. From 2011-13, there were 53 aggravated assaults on the ISU campus compared to 27 at NIU.

Bloomington has a higher violent crime rate than DeKalb, but Normal is lower.

I never felt threatened at NIU (except around the geese at the lagoon), but that's just me. I don't know why people would feel otherwise. Maybe because NIU has minorities while ISU is the least diverse college (36 out of 36) in Illinois? Nah, people aren't racist.

Lol...if DeKalb scares a person I think that person needs to get out of the house more.

He who shall not be named is now banned again from all boards after he couldn't resist bashing and degrading an NIU mention in a topic on the realignment board

It should also be noted that Normal is not a city, but a town. The second largest town in Illinois, behind Cicero and ahead of.......you guessed it Cortland. The lovely suburb of DeKalb!

Huskie fans crappin on ISU for low attendance, please. The Redbirds football team certainly deserve better. But no athletic program in this state is anywhere near the train wreck that is UIUC. The University Chancellor is an Acting Chancellor. Until their is a permanent Provost, Chancellor and President in place they will have a tough time getting an AD with any skills to commit to them. The mess that THomas left is the reason why Cubit is still there but only has a 2 year contract, not a good situation to be when on the recruiting trail.

The men's hoops program is going to need a miracle to get tournament eligible and if they don't the men's hoops coach is gone.

That and they pretty much have a monopoly on entertainment in the state.

UND's hockey program is a big draw as is the Fargo team in the Northern League but that's all that state has

I think the main reason this thread was started was due to the ISU troll who kept hijacking NIU threads. In every way he could he'd put down NIU while placing ISU on some sort of pedestal. He was annoying an eventually banned.

Yeah, I've never been scared walking around the NIU campus or DeKalb. Many people are scared when they see me, but I don't think they really fear me. It's more like they have never seen another human being quite like me. Heck, even I get scared when I look in the mirror sometimes. 03-weeping
