Uhm... not to scare you guys, but Fedora said the exact same thing after our 12 win season... I think that was his exact line at the time.

So just keep your eyes open and your ears to the ground (The good news, I don't think there are too many "big" job openings left...)

Hopefully, any coach jumping from CUSA only leaves for a gig where they can actually succeed. So many of these big money jobs are dead ends.

College basketball coaches seemed to have figured this out. The ones who are really good don't jump at the first low end money school to flash $$$.

Well lets see..the hurt coming out of our little brother fans is huge...HUGE I SAY!

Don't Marsha fans get tired of saying NEXT YEAR ...JUST WAIT TILL NEXT YEAR. If you don't want to be treated like the little brother. Don't act like one. NEXT YEAR!!! OHHHHHHHHHHHH wait till next year we are going to make that big ole meanie Western coach pay. They are meanies, they hit us, they throat slashed our little bitty sweet angels. OHHHHHHHHHHH NEXT YEAR!!!!!

That's what little brothers do...MARSHA fans

Big talk from a one time conference champ. Considering we have 6, been ranked numerous times, Heisman candidates, etc. Now, move along junior. Hey you won, you have a great team, but lets not act like your Bama or anything. I know Doughty seems to be a Manziel wannabe from his sideline antics. It's cool.

You know what, we're a lot more similar than you would want to think. The main thing you have on us is more years at the FBS level.

WKU vs Marshall

Which is the only level that matters. I am not crowning us the new anything until we can sustain it. The 5 straight winning season are awesome, but we need to consistently win championships in football before we can sniff at the pedigree of USM.

Good news for WKU/USM guys here:

There are currently only 5 slots still open... and I can't see Brohm or Monken being a successful target for any of them (BYU would be the only one I would think would be interesting to a coach right now)

ECU
Tulane
BYU
Bowling Green
La-Monroe

Some sources are saying our oc Chip Lindsey has told Monroe and eastern Ky he is not interested in their head openings.

Of those 5 openings byu is the only one that anyone would consider a step up

Unless they're Mormon, they're not going to BYU. ECU will make a run at one of them. PJ fleck is another target from what I'm hearing. ECU has damaged themselves by the way they've handled this whole mess. Such a stupid move and then to not let McNeil address them while the AD texted and tweeted the news was an awful move.

They've scared away at least 5 good recruits so far and the list is growing.

fair enough....I don't think Monken gets the offer he is looking for......next year 'should' become more of a concern....

time will tell....remember, we knew fedhat was gone at this point in the game....that was another thing that rubbed people wrong.....the admin allowed him to pick AND coach that bowl game....

Case in point former LA Tech basketball coach Mike White turned down Tennessee job in 2014 because there were some things he didn't like about the program. So USM's Tyndell took the job and .......well, you know the rest. Meanwhile, White accepted the Univ of Florida job a year later. The UF job is probably a much better job in the basketball world.

Monk knows the bigger job can be had in a year. Brohm is safe cause these big time aac schools cant pay his buyout.

If they can't pay Brohm's $1.2 million buyout then I don't think they are big time.

Brohm is simply happy here right now because he is from KY and his family is here. He made a comment this week about the grass not always being greener on the other side just because it's a bigger program.
