Anyone have any ideas on where they think USC will go bowling this football season?

USC is projected to play Nebraska (of all teams) in the Independence Bowl......somehow I do not think that will happen. If it does turn out that way, it will be an interesting game.....I know I will be there.

I don't think Nebraska will repeat as Independence Bowl contestants for a loooooong while. As for USC, if we beat Ole Miss Satiddy, we have a shot at a bowl, otherwise I don't think so.

I agree. I do not understand why http://www.collegesports.com projects Nebraska to play in the Independence Bowl when they only have one loss and are kicking butt these days. As for USC, we have to win at least 2 out of our 4 remaining games to get a decent bowl. I am hoping it starts with Ole Miss this Saturday.

I think we could get to a bowl of some kind with 6 wins......but my question is this:
Can we still get to a bowl if our sixth win is over Clemson? Two factors come into play in that scenario:
1- We will have to go into Clemson week with a 5-6 record.......Can we get a bowl invite in such circumstances?
2- We would finish with an extremely poor SEC record.
So, all n' all, I'd feel a lot better about our chances at going bowling if we don't have to rely on beating Clemson to get us there.
As it is, though, I don't feel good about us winning another game this season. :crying:

If we don't beat Ole Miss - we don't have a shot of winning the rest of the games on our schedule. I have a feeling the morale of this team is shaky and will shatter if Ole Miss gets ahead early and wins easily...

The upcoming game for USC is very important to them, their coaches, and the hopeful fans. Last year's nightmare of an end to the season is still fresh in everyone's mind. If the game is given away to Ole Miss, then the hopes to salvage the season will be only a dream and again with the nightmare that curses USC (The 5-3 curse).

Yeah, I know. I feel the same way.......we've seen that pattern before. Our morale seems to ALWAYS be fragile, doesn't it?
Remember? Fogler used to use that term to describe his basketball teams....."fragile." I don't think our athletic program handles national attention very well. In the sports that make money and get national attention from the media, we don't do well. Then in sports like baseball and track, which require less money and don't get the same media coverage as the bigger sports do, we do really well.
