Sun Belt player of the year 2015.
Arguably a three-way race.
Larry Rose III - 213 carries 1587 yards, 7.45 ypc, 12 TDs. 28 Receptions 282 yards 2 TDs
Matt Breida - 180 carries 1495 yards, 8.31 ypc, 16 TDs.
Nick Arbuckle - 273/235 (64.2%) 3814 yards, 23 TDs. 10 interceptions
Call me a homer, but I think Matt Breida should get it. He's in the top-10 nationally in total yards with at least 30 fewer carries than all of the other players and leads the country in ypc among running backs.
I predict Rose will get the award, though.

Since Breida got ripped off last year I'd be surprised if it happened again.

I'd throw Taylor Lamb in there as well. Leads the league in TDs, QBR and has the least amount of interceptions. Awards are usually based a lot on conference place, so I'm not sure Arbuckle and Rose have much of any chance there. Knighten as well.
I don't think it matters though, it's 99% likely going to Breida.

RE: Sun Belt player of the year 2015.
Lamb is 142/235 (60.4%) with 27 TDs, 7 INTs. Only sacked 8 times. 7th in the NATION in passing efficiency. Also 367 rushing yards and 4 TDs. All on a team with an 1000 yard rusher and 2 more around 500.
I have a feeling App is going to be slighted big time on the postseason awards because of how much we spread it around.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Rose or Arbuckle win it.
Arbuckle is a senior, and I believe Rose may be too.
That'll weigh in as well. Breida and Lamb still have multiple chances to win it.

Arbuckle.
The transformation of GSU is the story of the league. He was front and center in it. Plus, his stats are ridiculous, despite teams now playing with 5-6 defensive backs on the field.

My vote would be for Lamb and I hate it.

I don't know the history regarding this award.....other than Aplin and Fredi seem to get it a bunch. Here's the question......has a defensive player ever won player of the year in the Sunbelt?

Of those, I have to go with Arbuckle. He accomplished his playing for Georgia State.

It's gotta be Rose. He's basically the entire NMSU team.

Knighten
Arbuckle
Lamb
Breida
In no particular order, should be one of those.
Defensive, I'd go with my homer pick of Latrell Gibbs.

Does the media or coaches vote for the award?

Sun Belt. There is an offensive player of the year and defensive player of the year.

RE: Sun Belt player of the year 2015.
The fact that Lamb has 31 TD's with (from memory) 8 turnovers, all while having one rusher at over 1,000 yards and two more at around 500 says a lot to me.
Breida has been as advertised as has Arbuckle. The people saying he has been front and center fail to mention that his passing statistics have always been fairly good. The difference this season for the program has been the play of the defense. UAB's demise has benefited GSU greatly.
As far as a player most valuable to their teams success, you have to go with Knighten. He went on a tear against App and in most every game he has played in since he came back from injury.

Knighten may be the MVP because stAte doesn't win the conference without him, but he doesn't have the stats. He missed 2 full games and most of the second half against Mizzou.
Lamb is probably the best choice in that he has good stats and played for a 9/10 win program
Brieda also played well for a 8/9 win program and has the stats.
If Ga State won on Saturday then I think Arbuckle gets consideration. Don't see that occurring.
Let's do the SB thing and make it a 3 way co-POY award! That way nobody gets their feelings hurt and all three get a cheap gold watch and an authographed portrait with Mr. Peanut!

If Georgia State loses to Georgia Southern, I don't see Arbuckle getting it. I don't think Player of the Year has ever gone to a player for a team with a losing record.
I would give it to Breida.

So conference MVP is Knighten. OPOY: Breida DPOY: Ronald Blair. Coach of the Year: SS, Miles, or Arkansas State's t-shirt wearing dude.
