The game at Kaplan tomorrow evening is a very big one for both squads.

ODU has lost three in a row, confounding their rabid fan base who looked for a 25 win season, Biggest problem has been their shooting.

So you know they will be desperate for a win at Kaplan Arena..a fourth consecutive loss, especially W&M whom their boards denigrate almost daily, would be a disaster.

Our guys, meanwhile, need a win and a sharp performance to eradicate the stinker of the loss of a game we should have won at Howard and avoid a 4-3 record with UVA coming up shortly.

Let's hope a big crowd and lots of students greet the team tomorrow...you know ODU will have a coterie of their fans at Kaplan chanting "ODU, ODU, ODU" all night.

I said this a few years ago and soccer guy handled it, but it's been awhile since ODU came to town.

I noticed we've started playing the Hey Song again this year. For the love of god, do NOT play this on Tuesday night.

Because we lost to Howard. I don't know how we're favored against anyone.

Because oddsmakers aren't looking at who is better or worse, they're looking at what will get even bets on both sides. And when you look at us creaming NC State and hanging with Dayton, someone with no skin in the game will write off the Howard loss as a one off bad day at the end of a long string of consecutive games.

I love this woe is me attitude that if you have a bad loss by 1 (in this case to a team with an expected end of the year RPI of about 180 so right about 1/2 teams expected to be better, 1/2 are worse), you should never be favored to beat another team again.

I will take the Tribe and give the points. Any takers? I can collect at the Richmond game.

This is a great opportunity to step on the neck of our erstwhile step son. Beat the Monarchs.

This ODU team seems to be figuring out its identity and is missing some inside help. This is a game I think we should win, but we need to play our game the whole time. Hopefully there's a good turnout from students and Tribe supporters.

It's the Shoeless Showdown, where you get free admission with a new shoe donation (plus tix to Mary Washington or High Point). Hopefully that is advertised around the Peninsula more than Norfolk area.

I love how thinking ODU is a lot better than Howard is "woe is me". We've had a lot of problems finishing games. Howard has one player better than anyone on ODU, but it won't be easier to close ODU out than Howard. We are talented enough to say we "should" be undefeated right now; we have blown double digit second half leads in both losses. ODU is probably not as good as Dayton, but we'll need to play like we did at Dayton to win this game.

hk, I have a hard time believing someone with no skin in the game is betting the W&M game tonight. If you're that hard-core, you know we've blown two of our last three games.
