RE: Toledo vs. St. Bonaventure - WBB- Game Thread
Love the lady Rocket fans and I enjoy going to 5-6 lady rocket games a year, but how much longer will they sustain if the quality isn't there on the court. It's rose-colored glasses to think we'll still get 3-4k to show up for an under .500 team, actually a winless team now.

Yikes. Gonna be a loooong season for the Igniters fan club, me thinks.
Really thought this team would be better than this this season. Running out of chances to show they can get it together. Need to get some Ws before MAC play starts...

Today, they traded basket down the stretch but could not get to the foul line nearly enough while the Bonnies sealed the game from the free throw line.
I think you captured the essence of the problem. No offense and bad defense. Teams with these two problems frequently struggle.

After Dayton they play Columbia (4-1), Cleveland State (0-4), UIC (4-1) and Arkansas Pine Bluff (3-3). There ought to be at least a couple of wins in there someplace. But they could go into the MAC season 2-8. Wow!

We're going to have to wait 2 more years till Printz, Boyd, and McIntyre have 3 years playing together before this squad is a 20 win team. Hopefully by then we have enough pieces to be an NCAA tourney team. If not by 2018, Cullop needs to move on

Sure, those three freshmen could lead us to twenty wins two years from now, but they have not done anything yet to show that's likely. At this point in the careers of any of the last several recruiting classes, you could have made the same hopeful prediction. Again, not saying it won't happen, just that we have no evidence yet.

Was there any better lady's basketball team poised to take the next step than our lady rockets after the WNIT victory? What has happened? We should be rolling in D1 recruits? There was the infamous disappearing class from a few years ago, but it feels like it's been a revolving door.
I also thought that the WNIT championship was going to be the springboard back to greatness for the WBB program and they would once again start going to the NCAA tournament on a fairly regular basis as they routinely did in the late Fennelly and early Ehlen years. But alas it has not happened that way--at least not yet.
Maybe what we need is a few of the Kool Aid crowd to jump in here and tell us what poor and unappreciative fans we are and why they just can't understand how we could ever entertain such negative thoughts about this practically perfect program.
The Kool Aid crowd isn't much of a crowd any more. Most of the posters seem to be pretty concerned with the state of the program.
