Joe Walker
Joe Walker joined the University of Cincinnati football staff in December of 2012 as the director of football strength and conditioning.
Walker comes to UC after three years in the same role at Texas Tech University under current UC head coach Tommy Tuberville.
Walker joined the Red Raiders in 2010 after spending two seasons as an assistant strength coach at Auburn, as he joined the Tiger staff in February 2007.
His arrival at Auburn in 2007 was not his first stint with the Tigers as he served as a graduate assistant from May 2003 until May 2005 where he worked directly with the football program then led by Tuberville. Following his graduate assistantship at Auburn, he moved to Texas where he served as an assistant strength coach at TCU from May 2005 until January 2007. Walker also gained experience through brief stints at Kansas State and Pittsburgh.
Walker earned a bachelor's degree in recreation management/fitness option from Lock Haven University in 2002 and a master's degree in adult education from Auburn in 2004.
He and his wife Lauren have two sons, Caden and Colby.

As for the others what makes you say they regressed?
Pace is a junior
UC rotates 2 defensive lines throughout the game to keep them fresh as most colleges do; the 1st team is:
DE 44 Marquise Copeland 6-3 260 Fr.
DT 96 Cortez Broughton * 6-2 297 r-Fr.
DT 99 Alex Pace * 6-2 295 Jr.
DE 92 Silverberry Mouhon * 6-3 255 Sr.
So I was wrong about both DTs being freshman Silverberry's rotation has 1 DE and 1 DT as freshmen or rs freshmen. So there are still 2 freshmen on the line during his rotation.
The 2nd team line is:
DE 51 Kimoni Fitz 6-3 243 r-Fr. or 56 Mark Wilson 6-3 246 So.
DT 98 Lyndon Johnson 6-6 277 Jr.
DT 94 Chris Burton 6-2 290 So.
DE 48 Kevin Mouhon * 6-1 242 r-Fr. or 47 Landon Brazile 6-5 238 r-Fr.

UC currently starts 0 F or RSF on offense, 5 on Defense
As for your comment Coop who has regressed in your opinion? I am interested in having a conversation about these points, it's good to have a discussion instead of an argument.
Mouhon would be a prime suspect. I'd also put Mekale McKay up there. I'm not sure Zach Edwards really got any better over his career. Probably put Payne in that category as well. Mike Tyson is no better than when he started.
Some additional information on Zach Edwards:
S Zach Edwards is the Bearcats active leader in tackles
by over 100 stops.
The junior has totaled 274 career tackles, leading Silverberry Mouhon (143), Eric Wilson (127) and Leviticus Payne (119)
Edwards is also UC’s active career leader with 7 INTs.
I'd say he has progressed.
This is from the game notes located at the link above.
I know Payne has had some injuries this year and is obviously 4th on the team in tackles.
There is a rich stretch straight up I-75 that does not get mined for players (or coaches) as often as it should. I expect at least three of Ohio's seven state championship high school teams will come from that 100 miles stretch north of Cincinnati.

Edwards has had a solid career but never really took his game to the next level IMO. He burst onto the scene playing in every game as a freshman and showed a lot of potential for a very lightly recruited guy coming out of HS. In general, he's been pretty good in run support but his pass coverage has always been sort of ho hum. He's got 21 passes defended in 38 games over the last 3 years. You just don't see him making many plays on the ball that I would expect for a guy with his experience. Or maybe I just thought he'd be much further along in his development after what I considered to be a pretty impressive freshman campaign. A solid player, not saying he's bad (in fact he's probably one of the top couple of players on our D this year). I just don't see him really being better now than he was then.

The area doesn't have those stand out players unfortunately. I love the MAC as much as the next guy, but no one extremely stand out or is quiet built for college. You have exceptions such as Eric Lefeld, Adam Bertke, ect, but 1 or 2 from the conference a year is usually about it. They have great coaches who put them in their strengths and they play well together. It's why they are so successful.

I have just noticed that pretty much every player that comes out of the MAC to a major college exceeds expectations (and gets good grades, graduates, stays out of trouble, etc.) Seems to me the major colleges should reach in just a little deeper. For instance, UC should have an assistant talking every week to that sophomore Marion Local offensive lineman.
And I would think there would be an advantage to snagging, say, Goodwin as an assistant coach.
Quite a few good ones out of the greater Dayton area as well (Trotwood, Wayne, Alter, etc.)

You could be very well right. That sophomore offensive lineman you speak of has been getting D1 looks, and could go somewhere. Goodwin has had multiple job offers, but he (and his wife), have stated they'll stay in the area...They built a new home a couple years ago.
