New Coach and 2016 recruiting
So which recruits stay on board and which reopen. Who do we care about and who won't be a loss.

JF read talent well but can't say according to ratings he hit a home run in four years. Can that change?

this staff is the reason recruits are coming, it is not the Memphis brand,
if it is Odom HC with Dickey as OC we may keep a few...

Not entirely true, Sam Craft case in point.

I would be worried about losing Howard, the QB prospect.

Agreed. He and two of the WR targets are our top 3. Really sad if CJF leaves. Had said it a few times. The '16 class would have returned our roster to:
- 85 full scholly usage
- All D1-A level players
- Correct mix per class
- Correct mix per position
- Aligned to O philosophy

RE: New Coach and 2016 recruiting
With CJF leaving unfortunately, we still take us 2 more years to get to 85 scholarships. We will lose recruits beginning with the three mentioned below. Darn... tired of getting close to a full roster and quality depth.

With new coach and staff, will be like stating all over against next year.

Depends on who the coach is and who remains here from the staff. Our "brand" has significantly improved.

I agree. I would not write all the previous commits off just yet.

I'm not that worried about Howard. He will be one year behind Davis, so if Davis is the man, then that leaves Howard with one year to play.

Two different styles of QB play. Having watched Baylor vs TCU last night, both teams played their 3rd string QB throughout the season. Quality depth is critical.

Depends on how many assistants from the current staff are retained. Players go with the guy that recruited them more than the head coach

Just ask Jerry Jones.

Yup I bet Keon Howard flips to Virginia Tech, here's what he said in an article

"The coaching staff has a good relationship with my parents and stuff and I actually have a really good relationship with the head coach (Fuente)," Howard told The Clarion-Ledger."

"Basically (Fuente) told me I'd be able to come in my freshman year, understand the system and redshirt," he said. "My redshirt freshman year I'd be able to compete for a spot on the bench.

Shibest is lead recruiter. Again would be key to retain his coaching services, is also a special teams guru.

Mizzou currently has 2 four-star and 11 3-stars committed for 2016 class. And one of the four stars is from MS.

Just sayin...(licking chops)

Looked on Rivals, and doesn't look like Odom was the key recruiter on any of their recruits. He's only been there a year. Having said that, he recruited well here for us.

He would have assisted on some, especially as the DC. The key is pulling a few assistants along with him.

I guess the bigger hope is that some of those kids will look elsewhere because Pinkel won't be there.
