Could we be Steve Sarkisian's second chance?
If he is signed to some contract that he will abstain from alcohol then that would be a splash hire

While we're talking about second or fifth chances, what about Bobby Petrino? He knows how to kick start an offense.

Personal demons aside, nobody can convince me that this wasn't an absolutely terrible hire by Southern Cal.

He's mediocre to the core.

NO to Gene Chizik, as well, from someone who's lived in Alabama over 30 years. He only succeeded at Auburn because they got Scam Newton for one year. To beat all, Chizik didn't really want to recruit Newton but Malzahn finally talked him into it. He's not really considered to be the sharpest knife in the drawer.

How about Matt Campbell of Toledo. He played defense in college and I know most want an offense-minded coach, but he sure has Toledo winning. Thoughts?

Matt Campbell should be our first choice. Don't think we could get him but he is the next big deal in college coaching. While he was a defensive guy as a player, he's been considered an offense genius as a coach. Excelled everywhere he's been. Good recruiter, tireless worker, would be a great hire who would continue to progress the program here. An additional reference, Urban Meyer tried to hire him to OSU when he first took that job.

He sure has a good resume and is young and energetic - just what we need, IMO.
