Honestly, you should remove the word 'marine' from your handle if your going to be posting crap.

You should really look up the definition of respect...

And take the sand out of your ******, I am not in the PC business.

I think you need to look it up, but you should remove the word marine from your handle. You're becoming an em·bar·rass·ment

People tell me more about the Marines, since you were never one... I'll wait!

People tell me more about the marines? WTF is that, grunt talk?

Since you're caught up on the definition of respect, do you think it should be given or earned?

The "Miner" in your name tells me a lot.

Let's start with something we have in common. We've both spent time in service. We've both had a lot of people in charge of us. Now we would do what any of them said because that's what the rules say, but there are probably very few that you would actually respect as leaders. Only a few that you would respect enough to learn from. Those people earned that respect in some way while the others thought that they were entitled to it because of their chevrons. Can you agree with that?

I respected the rank and the authority that they had over me.

RE: Get ready for more protests and possible rioting. BLM is smiling
I have always found Nomad to be a reasonable poster, even if I disagreed with his conclusions. The comments about TM and MB ring true to me, and I agree that the two events so widely dissimilar were poorly chosen as part of the same narrative. I have always felt the real "outrage" was better directed at the TM situation, as I can empathize as to what my actions would have been when suddenly confronted by a stranger following me in a neighborhood in which I had the right to be.

That being said, I have always felt that this is a more economic issue than a racial one. My friends of multiple races are all very similar....they want their kids to succeed, are willing to invest in them to make that happen, and believe firmly that one's own behavior determines the direction of their lives. BLM may or may not have legitimate gripes, but they surely have embraced some that are NOT. That is enough for many folks to choose not to listen. See Mizzou for an example. And such movements are, I believe, supported by those that shape events. Imagine the perpetuation of victimization theology if this generation of bright young minority students spend their time and energy on demonstrations, movements, and social justice, vice spending it on building careers and families and businesses - the cycle of underachievement and racial imbalance, et al, continues, and the race-baiters claim another 20 years of divisive discourse vice focusing on building this country on multiple, multi-cultural foundations.

I am sick of this stupid game. I am sick of victimization entitlement. I am sick of non-working able-bodied adults living and eating well on my tax dollars. I am sick of black babies being aborted and black family structure destroyed, and I am sick of the repercussions that such destruction has caused, all facilitated by government "benevolence". If there is a "real" conversation to be had, to me, this is the one that matters. Is anyone here brave enough to really have it?

It should be given AND earned. Not much of either going on here.

Sadly, there are Too many race baiters that make their entire living on perpetuating the victim game. As long as Community activists see dollar signs from this and can keep blaming the working and rich folks for Their problems, We will continue to see this. The Fearless leader still leads like He is a Community activist to this day. It's all He knows. And bringing in Refugees from Syria and illegals from other nations will continue to stop Our own jobless from gaining any ground to a level playing field as those others will be given Social benefits as well as jobs . Those are the Imported voters that the Left is counting on in the future.

Nope. If you try to have the conversation if usually comes back full circle to it being the white man's fault somehow.... in 2015.
