Now they're playing double that (I;m guessing). The longer they're out there, the more you see why they were D-3 players in the first place. Stith's loss absolutely devastating for this team.
Almost got it right. Nik would still be playing significant minutes regardless of the injures etc. but Vassor would barely be playing at all. I love Taylor as a player, but Nik is the 2nd most complete big on this team behind Stith. Taylor still brings nothing to the offensive end of the court other than offensive rebounds and good passing for a big.
Taylor would be an ideal 3rd big, or compliment to an offensively dominant big. ODU was basically one big man short going into this season, and with Stith going down they're playing with nothing but bench quality bigs. You insert one more big in addition to Stith and ODU would have a top 25 team this year. It would move Stith to the 2nd big status, and Taylor/Biberaj to bench guys and they would all be GREAT in those roles. They just need Stith back and to find a way to overcome a slight deficiency with their strength in the back court. Such a shame to be so deep at guard this year and so deep in the front court next year with just no overlap.
Whoa! No overlap? I know we are losing Freeman and Bacote this year but look at what we have in the back court for the next two years. No specific order of playing time or starters.
2016 back court
1. Caver, Evans
2. Stith, Moseley, Baker
3. Talley, Green
Ease up a little bit on the no overlap. In 2017 our most offensively talented guards will be returning.
I was talking about Freeman and Bacote not being able to play with a fully stocked front court. Both seasons they've been together ODU has been thin down low.
Like I said earlier I am excited after seeing the potential in Caver and Talley to go with all these bigs coming in, not to mention the younger Stith stepping in. If the Evans kid is as good as advertised ODU is set at PG for the next few years, probably as good a 2 PGs since Drew and Brandon. That Talley/Green combo looks as good as ODU has had at SF in a while too. Collectively those 7 are definitely better shooters than your typical BT roster of guards.

A little miscommunication. Yes I agree having those two with the bigs coming in next year would be ideal. You are 100% right about the Caver/Evans combo at the point. That could be special. Anyone see that Xavier Green was listed as the sleeper recruit in Conference USA. That kid is smooth.

FVCU, and yes, we should be good next season. But I thought we'd be good this year too. Although I also thought we'd have Juvante, Branden and Ambrose. Man, seeing those three names together drives home what a loss we had unexpectedly.

All impossible to predict, all devastating. Douglas and Mosley seemed to be coming into their own towards the end of last season.
