So sorry but that's the fact of the situation. You schedule like a *****, you don't have a chance.

B1G championship loser is definitely out. No other way around it. Stanford gets in over UNC if they win out. They need Stanford knocking off ND and losing in the PAC title game. I'm not sure that OSU still gets in over UNC, because I can't see Clemson getting left out over OSU even with a loss.

1. Bama 12-1
2. Iowa/MSU winner
3. OU 11-1
4. UNC 12-1
5. Clemson 12-1
6/7. UM/OSU winner
8. Baylor 11-1
9. Stanford 10-3
10. ND 10-2

It's a very real possibility. I think you will see the committee position UNC in the top 10 this week, or next week.

Even Stanford at 11-2 is going to find it hard to get anywhere close to the top 4....Stanford really needs Ohio State and Baylor to lose again, and Baylor is probably going to win out

Who do you pick if you're the committee?
11-1 Conference runner-up
11-1 Conference runner-up
11-2 Conference Champ

you're really into splitting hairs at that point....In that scenario, I could actually see Stanford getting in due to their conference championship, and strong wins at the end of the year

They are not going to be ahead of Big Ten champion. PERIOD.
They are not going to be ahead of Alabama. PERIOD.
They are not going to be ahead of Oklahoma. PERIOD.
They would not be ahead of Notre Dame if ND beats Stanford. PERIOD.
They would maybe have a chance against Stanford. That's their ONLY hope.

Assuming they win out, I think UNC is hoping Stanford win over ND followed by either UCLa or USC winning the PAC-12. Head to head with an 11-2, just beat ND Stanford would be close, but I bet Stanford would get the nod with a much tougher schedule. But the circumstances of all the games might come into play.

Beating Clemson is a better win than beating Notre Dame

Stanford needs NC State to pull an upset this weekend, and THEN for North Carolina to win the ACC....that would eliminate the ACC

they have the slimmest of options left...

And if you REALLY get far-fetched....if Florida loses to FSU, and then beats Bama, the SEC is eliminated.

Most likely though, Bama and Clemson win out

Baylor is not going anywhere with that OOC. Really that simple, unless they win the Big 12 outright, is that even possible at this point? I don't think it is if I recall the schedules. Both OSU/OU finish up this weekend. I guess Baylor gets in with an Okie St head to head with both at one loss.

So it really comes down to OSU/UM and one loss Clemson/Okie St/UNC (Stanford at three losses is out). And there is no way you leave out a team that beats the number one team on a neutral field (or is it @Clemson? I forget where they play the ACC CCG).

If the SEC also eliminates itself, then you open the door back up for another "At-Large". So I'd look at the results of UM/OSU and UNC/Clemson before making a move. Okie St does not deserve to be there unless they win the Big 12 outright. I'd lean toward both Clemson AND UNC in that impossible scenario.
