At Memphis basketball, winning is easier than losing. Even Wayne Yates won more than he lost. The lenghts that Pastner worshipets will go to justify his dumb statements are astounding.

Ill bet even he knows now that 'winning is hard' was a terrible mantra.

I'm not a Pastner fan but

Dumb statements:

'Winning is hard, but 'I want to win' - Doc Rivers NBA Champion coach Sept 25, 2015

'The art of winning is hard, guys. It’s hard'. Jim McElwin coach of 9-1 Florida Gators November 14 2015
And, there's plenty others that have said it. And they are correct, of course. I don't believe Pastner has presented that as a mantra, merely a fact.

Of course, the anti-Pastner will characterize anything he says as dumb.
It's one big reason they exist. They make false characterizations of Pastner, present those as facts, then begin to buy in themselves into the falsehoods.
It has become one hugely crazy cluster ****. Way bigger than it needs or should be.

I was hoping he retired that line by now u would think somebody close to him would tell him that he sounds like a fool when he says that about everybody. This isn't youth sports where everybody gets a trophy and we are all winners. This is high level d-1 basketball there are winners and losers, good teams and bad teams, good players and bad players, good coaches and bad coaches. That's reality I'm not sure if he really believes that or he is the ultimate suck up. I really can't tell but he did it again yesterday for the worst team in college basketball ranked 351 out of 351 schools, he built them up like they were the golden state warriors. I really don't know why his close friends or somebody would tell him to stop with this narrative, everybody is not good. I thought he had stopped doing this last year maybe I'm wrong. I have to turn the station when he starts that. He's just insulting our intelligence trying to tell us the worst ranked team in all of college basketball is really good with really good players lol. I guess it's for the crowd who is not informed and really doesn't understand basketball they are the ones who take that hook line and sinker. Somewhere there is a 9 year old running around thinking grambling is a basketball power. There is a grandmother who thinks we just beat a really good team. My grandmother is one of those if she listen to his show and heard him talk she would argue with you how good grambling is and what a good win it is. Ultimately it's just disengenous to keep on with this charade. What I would give to hear him just say well you grambling pretty much sucks and we should win handily. Nah that will never happen but there is somewhere in the middle where u don't have to lie and mislead. I would bet money against UT Arlington or whoever it is he says the same exact thing u didn't even need to listen to his pregame speech on the radio we can all quote word for word what he is going to say he just adds in different stupid cliches every year. This year it's we are going to undersell and over perform listen for the two or three times before the next game. I'm sure there are other cliche phrases he will throw in there too. It's comical. Besides me ribbing him about this I do think this team can be pretty good this year. I'm not a total hater where I won't give him credit on putting together a nice team for this year.

Wayne Yates did it at a better % than Finch. Timing is everything . You do not follow a big winner. People have too many expectations.

It is too bad that Pastner has not been able to win bigger than Yates.

Of course, pointing that out must mean you believe he is infallible...at least in Internet world.

After OSU lost to Louisana Tech at home last night 82-74, Friday's game is as close to a November "must" win as one can possibly get.

I was first going to say "thank god we don't play La Tech" but then I figured it was part of this tournament thing we are in.

not to disrespect any opponent, but this is what we have come to. "Worrying" about UTA at home.... that's just sad.
