Bowl Tie-Ins
I know we are tied-in to the seven bowls we are currently using for a certain amount of years. The reason for the current ones that we have were that we were a new conference and I assume that the bowls didn't think the AAC would be as strong as it is. How long before we can negotiate better bowls for our members?

I think many of the non NY6 bowl contracts run close to the same time and I think many are locked in through the 2019 season.

Rome wasn't built in a day. Same goes for conferences. The AAC began at a terrible disadvantage for bowl and TV negotiations due to being essentially a new conference which barely survived a perfect storm of bad publicity that naturally left perceptions of instability. Aresco knows what he is doing and will have a lot of selling points next time around.

I agree with GA on this. It's a terrible bowl selection, slightly worse than the Mountain West's, but not really any different from the G5 slate. New conference and an unexpected future. If realignment remains dormant for a few years, I have little doubt in Aresco to continue building the American's profile.

The American Athletic Conference has bowl tie-ins with seven bowl games this year – AutoNation Cure Bowl (Dec. 19 vs Sun Belt), Miami Beach Bowl (Dec. 21 vs Conference USA), Marmot Boca Raton Bowl (Dec. 22 vs Mid-American Conference), Hawaii Bowl (Dec. 24 vs Mountain West Conference), St. Petersburg Bowl (Dec. 26 vs Conference USA), Military Bowl (Dec. 28 vs Atlantic Coast Conference) and the Birmingham Bowl (Dec. 30 vs Southeastern Conference).
