RE: ND thread
Us "old timers" remember something that used to be called the "sophomore slump". On the men's side, I think Jon Jon suffered from it a bit last season, but he seems to have come back just fine for his Junior year. I know it's only 2 games in, but Jay Ann may just have the same kind of season--she's certainly one of the 2 players opponents are going to focus most on, so she has that going against her. This is a young team--in some ways even younger than the men's team. Many new pieces. I think McIntyre & Printz could become significant contributors come MAC play. Let's see if we are seriously challenging for a MAC championship within the next 3 years.

RE: ND thread
They looked good at times and gave the acc freshman player of the year a battle at times. The are very young and are making allot of very young player mistakes. They will need to calm down and make better plays and use better shooting. Look we were tight there the first qtr but then started throwing balls at the basket instead of taking good shots. We have a lot of depth and we may go 0-4 to start and then start turning heads. I'm happy they didn't lose by 50 or more. OSU lost by more than 50 to uconn. ND will drop some in rankings later as I don't think they are a # 3 team. More like a ten or twelve. Be patient until about two or three games into MAC and about 6 or 8 games into season before you make real critical evaluations. They will be fun to watch once they settle down and make better decisions

This is the 3rd year in a row that UT has had a "young team" which is OK, guess although in order to compete for championships, veteran teams usually have a big edge. Although it is early I think that this year's freshman class is the best one we have seen in several years although I tend to be overly optimisitic about every new class until the hard, cold reality sets in. I do like the depth that enables the team to put a lot of effort into their defensive effort.

With experience the team should improve and hopefully a few players will emerge as candidates for the freshman team.
