That certainly is how I've been seeing it. Why else bring in one of the finalist for the AD job when Wickstrom was hired. This has been rumored for a couple weeks now.

If he goes, does that mean he won't be involved in hiring your next coach?
I see that as a very bad thing for you.

I think he is involved but president Bruno's will make the decision. Which scares a lot of us, and this hire will say a lot about whether or not he is serious about athletics or still penny pinching making the safe hire. I think Bruno also believes whether Wickstrom gets this job or not it's just a matter of time before he is hired away. So he is being prepared and bringing in his next AD choice to be involved in the hiring process.

With the perceived budget constraints, ULM should look outside the box for their FB hire. High school, really young coordinator/assistant, something along those lines.

Word is his contract won't be renewed if he doesn't get a job, so we hope he gets the Tulane job. Josh Brooks should be very good as well.

Wick is out no matter what happens, which is a glowing example of what is wrong at ULM (Bruno). He can't stand being overshadowed by anyone, so beware new head coach, because if you win you'll probably be gone too.

Speaking of High School Coaches, word around Arkansas is that Kevin Kelley, otherwise known as the coach who never punts, is wanting to take his system to the College Game to see how it works. ULM would be an interesting test subject.

I've read several articles about that dude over the last couple of years. I would be very interested to see how he would do in college, and agree ULM would be an interesting spot. I think it more likely that he would get a shot to try that out in D2 or Juco first since they are often seen as a laboratory of sorts.

The biggest issue is that the team he coaches now is far more talented than most anyone they will play in this state. Our convoluted rules for Private Schools allow his program to compete in a league with a bunch of public schools who really can't hope to match them.
That would not be the case at ULM, who just doesn't have the talent level to hang with many FBS teams currently. Imagine him running that system out there in a game against say an Alabama...yikes.

Does he do fake punts out of his own end zone. That would be cool to see. No one in college ball would dare do something silly like that.
