WVT hits a 3 and that will end it. Rockets win 96-65

Rockets did what they needed to do against a badly outmatched opponent. The exhibition against Hillsdale was a better test. Next few games will give us a better indicator.

Jon Jon was more focused and determined in the second half. Sanford is gonna make teams play much more honest against us on the perimeter than they've had to in past few seasons.

Asked Nick P on Twitter if Knapke was redshirting and he replied with: @NickPiotrowicz: Potentially. It'll depend on injuries, but I think that's what TK wants.

When was the last time we had a real three point shooter? Not a guy who COULD shoot threes but a guy who's game was predicated on spotting up, who shot40%+ and who's ratio of twos to threes was greater than less than 2:1? I can't think of any until at least the Joplin era and Nick Moore. Sanford looks to be that guy.

Too bad the 3 pointer wasn't around for Gast and Selgo.

Mosley, Williams and Boothe all had great games, but Sanford's shooting blew me away. Although 6/8 from 3-point land isn't too shabby in itself, that is not the entire story. One of those two misses was a prayer he threw up at the buzzer without a chance to set and furthermore what should have been his 5th 3-pointer in a row at that time was waived off because of a foul away from the ball just prior to his shot.

No one is likely to have consistent shooting nights like this but if this was not too much of an aberration from his normal shooting ability we are in for a real treat this season.

Although his shooting was the most remarkable aspect of his game, all aspects of his play was good. Of course it is only one game so it is way to early to think about post season honors at this stage; however, if he can continue to play anywhere close to this level as the season progress he will be getting serious consideration for the freshman team and if not talk about freshman of the year.

That shot that was waived off was damn near from out of bounds. Had to be 25 feet.

Watched Jaelen Sanford in the state championship game in Indiana last year and it was a similar story. Raining threes and all over the floor. He will be special

Chad Kamstra and Nick More are the only two in my memory who have centered their games around the 3 point shot.

They really look young, but I think my favorite from the young man today was his dunk, showing he's capable of more than shooting beyond the arc. Also enjoyed Adway's show pregame when he was throwing down two handed reverse dunks. Going to be fun watching these guys develop and mature.
