RE: Clark: Family just got a whole lot bigger
We had a player from Pleasant Grove who was quite that big that played around the club football days. (450 lbs 5 foot something)

The QB was 6 foot 9 & was from a christian school.

Something like Matt Johnson was his name.

Officially he is not a transfer to UAB from Alabama.

Correct - he already had his release from Al so could have gone anywhere & they couldn't have made a stand at the campus door if they'd wanted to

Think you may be talking about Tony Williams (#99). He was either the brother or cousin of OL starter Artavious Williams. I think I heard about Tony passing away a few years back. Hopefully I'm wrong on that.

Everything you said is ringing bells. Wasn't he from the Mobile area?

Edit nevermind it was Selma.

He's about a third the man he used to be. Still ugly as a mud fence, though.

He is talking about the big white kid from Pleasant Grove.

I think he played for Coach Hilyer & may have even been prior to Div III.

Guy was so big we almost had to call timeout just to give him time to get on the field.

I remember the golf cart coming to get Bolt at halftime to take him to the locker room. Otherwise, he wouldn't have made it in time.

Tony Williams did pass away a few years ago. IIRC it was cardiac or diabetes related
