No. Rivals you hate just for being who they are. With NIU, you make me hate ourselves. I don't mind NIU. No beef against them. But I hate what we become when we play you. Basically, it's not you, it's us.

NAH, It's us. We're just a better program. Sorry, facts only.

That's a quality post.

Well we should just keep kicking your asses for another 6 years, I wonder how long it will take before you move the hate to us. I know what you mean though, its hard to hate a team when you dominate them for so long. Trying to stay classy, but Toledo is my rival

Well, as soon as we can find a real coach and staff instead of a bunch of youngsters playing and pretending that they can coach, maybe we can start to repay you. For now...you should pray that Campbell is stuck here in Toledo for a few more seasons.

Yes, you are. I've said as much on this thread. You obviously completely missed the point of my comment.

Toledo couldn't keep from shooting themselves in the foot and neither could NIU but NIU overcame some huge errors and Toledo didn't. Ely played by far his worst game. I feared for the game when we went three and out with three passes on the first series. NIU played a nice game and their backup QB looked pretty sharp after half. We lost Milligan, hopefully not for long, which hurt. Early BG prediction: BG 84 UT 56.

Yeah, the 1st series in the 2nd half had left me with a super ominous feeling as well

What is your UT v CMU prediction?

I think we win there but we better start being much smarter with how we pass. If two guys rush for 130 + you better find ways to get them the ball. I really think the no sacks thing was in some people's heads. CMU's guy can't pass when we have the ball so we need to play mistake free and not play away from our strength.

Why roll out ELY!?

Coach Candle: Hey, I know we are killing them up the middle and have them on their heels with the hurry up, but let's roll out our slowest runner and have him run a naked boot in the red zone. No one will see it coming!
Candle couldn't call his wife to dinner even if she was sitting right next to him .
Please don't get me started about Candle. Campbell needs to take over the play calling.

No, we'll cave to the MAC commissioner like we always do and head to Potato land...

Exactly...don't feel like going back to Mobile or heading out to Boise would be a reward to the program and fans.

RE: NIU - UT game thread
I find it humorous when idiots think it is necessary to talk smack after a win. As though they were out on the field doing battle and because of their efforts, they won the game against players that were belittling them. A lot of talk while being anonymous behind a keyboard. I have never understood the need to shoot your mouth off after a win to talk about domination, etc. You are nothing but fans, but if that is what it takes to compensate for other deficiencies, then continue to shoot your mouth off because you obviously have a lot to compensate for.

I couldn't care less about NIU and having lost 6 straight to them. I really couldn't. I am more concerned about how the OC continues to remain in that position given his level of incompetence and how awful the refs in this league are. We get a better game from the refs when we are on the road - and then I remember the games against Syracuse, Minnesota, and OSU. At least those refs ologized for being incompetent in those games - but only because they were told they had to.

RE: NIU - UT game thread
Toledo needs to focus on winning each of the next three games.
Bowl talk seems premature.
As an NIU fan I respect Toledo U and its FB program and tradition.
You won 7 games with your OC and team.
Focus on each team and grind out a win, like you do against BGSU every year for the past five years.
No reason why Toledo does not go 10-1 this year.
