Interesting article. A number of colleges are following Pete Carroll's lead and moving from the traditional way to rugby style tackling, using the shoulder instead of head up across the body. Idea is to reduce concussions and be more successful bringing down bigger running backs.

Do away with the hard plastic shoulder pads and helmets. Go back leather helmets and padded pads. These would be great with modern materials.
