Recruits react: Golden out at Miami - UCF and others to Benefit
We all know that when coaches leave (retire or fired) recruiting can be affected as well. Here is an interesting example with AAC mention of UCF (as strange as it may sound with their coaching loss):

Quote:Class-of-2017 linebacker Waynmon Steed, a four-star prospect, seems equally as shakey as McKitty. Steed, who plays for powerhouse Miami Central High School says he will now strongly consider Florida, Purdue, UCF and FAU, among others. - See more at: https://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/co...mAcNy.dpuf

God, had UCF's situation been different they could have loaded up. USF had better take advantage here.

If the recruits like Golden, maybe O'Leary needs a partner? It'd be like UCF paying for recruits, without paying for recruits. Offer the man the same deal as O'Leary. 200k for 5-6 4 star recruits is cheap! He could even leave 5 minutes early the one time a month he has to come in.

Meh, the UCF mention means nothing. According to what was written, the same kid is strongly considering FAU the same way. It is just anxiety. Once Miami hires someone, the kids will be back on board. They certainly aren't going to flee a coachless Miami for a coachless UCF.

Golden is an excellent rebuilding coach. Not one to maintain a high profile program.

He's pretty much out recruited everybody for in so. Florida for 3 and 4 start talent. I am shocked it hasnt paid off.

Miami's stadium situation will be the death knell of the program. 30 year lease. They won't be national championship relevant until they build an OCS or downtown stadium. What they need is a coach with a gimmick offense like Baylor or TCU.

Right now UCF is a brush fire, Recruiting this year will be real bad. You have a bad team, No AD, No coaches.

I think that a new coach will be able to find 20 recruits in 2 months. They will all be 2 & 3 stars but he'll get them.
