Our defense has improved and is looking like one of the better ones in the SBC. The Troy defense will keep it close for a while, but I'm not sure our young o-line can handle your front seven.

@DEwiseTrojan: Most points for Troy in a Sun Belt game. Was 50 against North Texas in 2009.

Passed that in 3rd quarter

TROY @ NMSU
Will NMSU win a game this year? And is this just NMSU throwing in the towel or is Troy honestly this much better?

How do you figure? TXST just slammed South Alabama, and their defense sucks.

They did better defensively against Idaho than anybody else has this year besides USC, for what that's worth.

We've played three Top 25 teams (more than anyone else) and still rank 2nd in the conference in total defense and 3rd in scoring defense. We are improved and likely one of the better defenses in the SBC. That may mean didley squat vs App State, but for now we're liking the direction VK is taking our defense.

I think the team has given up, UNT-style. At this rate, I'm not sure Coach Martin deserves to stay here, injuries to our starting QB aside.

RE: TROY @ NMSU
It's been a while since Troy unloaded on a Belt team like last night, felt good.

The Trojans have been decidedly down for the past 4 seasons. Before that, we were the Bullies of the Belt, trouncing Conference breathen weekly and laughing as we did it.

I think hiring Neal Brown was a slam dunk home run, still do. I am willing to be patient and allow the guy to build his team up, but the goal MUST BE to return to the top of the SBC and STAY there. We've added some very good programs in Georgia Southern and App State, both seeing similar early success as Troy did. Don't sleep on the Trojan Empire, and don't ignore our sharp rise and fall as an important lesson...one any of our teams regardless of success can suffer as well.

Troy has brand recognition and I fully anticipate claiming the ring again under Coach Brown. Last night's game showed me that the Men of Troy can still be the juggernaut we as fan still feel we are.

It's an exciting time to wear Cardinal!
