It probably helped them to play GT, before playing Navy.

We block and tackle for the first time in 3 weeks, and we still don't know what we're doing.
2 Weeks ago, Temple had 240 yards and 42 points; today, we have 190 yards at half and a mighty 7 points.
The team doesn't know what it's doing.

Tulane needed that TD and Navy needed that turnover. Tulane came to play today though! Very impressed. Still almost a full qtr to play though, excited about the end of this one.

Tago Smith hits Calvin Cass Jr. for a 24-yard touchdown pass. #NavyFootball leads, 31-7, with 2:46 to go. It was Cass’ first career TD.

We held them to 200 rushing yards below their average, and still figured out a way to lose by a ton.

D was different alignment from GT game, and weren't you missing a key guy to injury against GT? We were worried about the D Line coming in, and Tulane sold out on the run with CBs and safeties. We had to go the pass, and when that started clicking is when we pulled away.
From section 2, it never felt like we were up a ton.

AND somehow, it seems like other posts (non scholarship comment) are intentionally underselling a team with 8+ wins in 11 of the last 12 seasons...

Tulane went with an odd front against Navy wich freed up our LB's to make plays. Against G-Tech we ran an even front & our LB's & secondary were wiped out by G-Tech' center & guards. Also G-tech's receivers physically devastated our corners which quickly turned the game into a soul crushing track meet.
Navy executes the flex bone very well, but Navy doesn't bring the size that Tech brought. Tulane has speed and coaching on D & it showed up well today. With any kind of able coaching on offense this game goes to the wire.

Love my Tulane but the current Tulane football coach is a big time loser CJ Johnson and should be fired today. Our QB Lee has no mobility, our offensive line stinks, special teams and field goal kicking is a joke and the worst in the nation. I like our defensive line, defensive ends and Marley. Fire CJ now before our new AD does!

Navy has a fine team.
yes, that's what we did - sold out on the run. But overall it was an effective defense. Navy had a lot of short fields, which is not unusual for Tulane to offer.
We are just much less than the sum of our parts, as per ranked 78th in defense by yards, but 114th in scoring defense.
Turnovers, chronically poor special teams, inopportune penalties etc.
i.e. Poorly coached.
Navy is well-coached. Navy knows what it's doing.
Yes, it never felt like Navy was blowing us out...but you were up by 24. Teams that don't know what they are doing manage to be down 24 in a game that feels pretty close.
tulane's 3- 8 team last year was a better team than this team, which very well may win 4 or 5 games (the last 4 opponents are much more manageable).

Defense looks good but coaching under CJ Johnson, offense include offensive line and quarter back mobility plus special teams field goal kicker are all the worst in the nation. Sick of these blow out games by Duke,Georgia Tech,Temple and Navy. Fire CJ now.
