Attendence thread for Saturday
Saw in an earlier thread someone had concerns about attendance on Saturday. Both are now eliminated.

1. Cubs are done, so no conflict with a game in that series.

2. Rainy weather is supposed to be cleared out of the area by 11 am at the latest on Saturday.

So there you have it. Nothing to prevent a decent crowd from showing up.

18,205+

We beat a ranked Toledo's attendance count who just hosted EMU the week prior.

RE: Attendence thread for Saturday
I hope you are right about the rain ending by 11:00 a.m. I plan to attend with my granddaughters, a four year old and an 8 month old. They, their parents and my wife will not sit through a game in a cold rain.

I will have seen three regular season games this year which is far more than usual for me as an out of state fan!

Still, rain in the a.m. will keep whimpy fans from attending in the p.m. That said, I am still hoping for a huge crowd which always adds to the game day experience.

Except that the opponent is EMU, and NIU is having a slight down year

Unfortunately rain until late morning is still enough of a deterrent to have some fans write off the day and snuggle up to ESPN3.

17,678 (would be reported by most other G5 schools as 20,432)

RE: Attendence thread for Saturday
Really? That bad.
Years past...bad weather and bad football would garner better than what some fear (or, hope for).
I'll say this: If this football team does not gather over 15K for homecoming on a mostly decent day (expected), you can throw out whatever this administration is doing (or, not doing). I don't care about Toledo and I don't care about the landscape of college football...not here, not now.
NIU HOMECOMING IS HUGE. IF YOU CANNOT GATHER A DECENT FAN-BASE FOR THIS GAME....DID I SAY THIS ALREADY?- YOU ARE FAILING.

I am optimistic and I'll guess at 17,500.00 and I am not impressed.

I don't see the reason for the very low guesses. Homecoming has been the best attended game of the year in 7 of the past 10 years (05, 06, 08, 10, 11, 13 & 14)

Low guesses because of the perceived waning interest. In addition, look at the opponent. Plus, if it rains in the morning, people may not want to risk venturing out. I know, stupid excuses, but those excuses are reality for many people.

All I know is that my group of 4 will be there yelling, eating, drinking, cussing, and farting (not necessarily in that order). Typical day, but a good one.

No Cubs, Homecoming, and a good day for football: 20,202. Why not aim high?

Those of you guessing less than 17k, have you not attended a homecoming recently? They are usually around 20k, but yeah versus EMU I will guess 18,600, which is disappointing

It's HOMECOMING guys. No one cares who we play. It is all about coming home to NIU ...seeing friends...tailgating...enjoying the day. Everybody wants a good time and a win.

These are regular people we are talking about - not diehards like us. They would come to homecoming no matter who we played. (and I'll be a lot of them don't even know who we are playing!)

I'll say 17 - 18K 04-rock
