Davis Porter can suck it. He pretty much dissed us in his pre-game article with what was almost an op-ed and then went into sportswriter "just the facts" mode in the follow up article.

I would take issue with the "faltered down the stretch" headline. More like "got the lead, and then spent the next 3 1/2 quarters wondering what just hit 'em."

For a guy that looks like Pyle from Full Metal Jacket, he sure is full of himself.
This is the quote that got me:

The Liberty Bowl should be rocking as much as an old, worn-down stadium can be at 11 in the morning. There hasn’t been this much excitement in Memphis since Williams was running wild for the Tigers at the turn of the century, and Fuente has turned a recent laughingstock into a program that believes it can win Saturday. - See more at: http://www.oxfordeagle.com/2015/10/11/co...LAQL5.dpuf

How's that Tiger **** taste you slack-jawed son of a ****?

I cannot understand how they can call the Liberty Bowl "run down". I'd prefer to be on-campus, but the Liberty Bowl looks better now than it ever has... and certainly as nice as Vaught Hemmingway.

You're thinking of UT. At Ole Miss, they burn fraternities and crosses.

The old stadium looked very good on Saturday. So many miss fans were shocked at our new digs of Tigerlane. We are blessed with that new addition. It's really bringing Tiger football alive and providing a community event.

RE: View from Oxford
Well, it is really sad that we ruined their season. I am so broken up that I am thinking about writing Hugh freeze a letter of apology on behalf of the Tiger Nation.

OTOH, the Auld Mess campus is the only place where my vehicle was ever vandalized during a football game, and that includes multiples trips to Louisville, Tennessee, Cincinatti, etc. So, my apology will be limited to that old quote from Steve Martin

EXCUUUUUUSSEEE ME!

If Missippi is #24, Memphis Tigers are #4! What a joke. We will see what the Black Bears do for the season. I wish them good luck......

RE: View from Oxford
Headline no big deal.

We led 31-14, and they cut it to 31-24 and had the ball. Down the stretch, they then faltered, punting after a three and out, allowed a Memphis FG to go down ten, then inexplicably punted from the 50 with 9 minutes left. May have been 4th and ten there but that decision was odd.

8 minutes later, their defense...faltering...gave up one last FG...after being bludgeoned for the bulk of the quarter.

Actually though their main writer was pretty good.
