Tulsa is a two dimensional team unlike the one dimensional Rebels. They can run and throw the ball consistently. Do not be surprised if they come out and try to run the ball more than pass. Especially if we start slow again as we have in recent games. If they get an early lead they will try to milk the clock. Keep the ball away from our offense. Their pass defense is not strong enough to slow down our passing attack if we are focused on the game.

You said it. If there's one thing preventing us from going from good to great (to steal a great book title) I think our propensity for coming out of the gate slowly could be it.

Tulsa Time of Possession: 28.3 minutes per game, 90th nationally.

Tulsa is also two dimensional on defense with their passing defense 277 yards per game (108) and rushing defense 248 yards per game (119) being equally bad.

As long as we don't turn the ball over we should be able to score nearly every possession.

One other thing to be aware of...

Last week at ECU, Tulsa pulled the redshirt off of their back-up QB. He is a dual-threat guy and evidently a very good runner.

I'm willing to bet that Fuente gave them Sunday to celebrate but as soon as that clock hit midnight on Monday morning, all talk of Ole' Mrs was over and he has them 100% focused on Tulsa.

I doubt if he gave them Sunday.

It won't take them long to learn that our run defense is pretty good.
