Best ETSU Players
In the spirit of changing the climate/tone of the message board, I thought we could share some positive opinions. I know that opinions will vary due to ones age but thought we could share some thoughts on who we thought was the best offensive and defensive players that we saw play at ETSU. David Ferrell and Phil Forney were 2 monster defensive ends (early 1980s) that could have played at any school in the country. They both spent a little bit of time in NFL camps. On the offensive side of the ball, Jerry Butler was a running back in theearly 80s that never reached his potential in college but boy was he a talent (also played some pro football). Earl Ferrell was another running back (late 70s) that was a man amongst boys!

Good call on Van Williams! He was a load to bring down and ran with a purpose. Thane Gash would light you up over the middle of the field. If the ball was being thrown your way, you sure as hell knew where he was at on the field!
