In this HIGHLY unlikely scenario (despite all the scuttlebutt on here) there is no way that they would have them set up anywhere outside of Godwin facing the Duke Dog statue . Suffice to say that the Godwin lot donors would have to suck it up and cramp in a smaller space. Also, the set really isn't that big and we probably would only need room for two thousand people or so.

Completely agree. They really only need the Kid's Zone area for the setup and it would be by far the best atmosphere. As much as we all love the quad visuals, that's really no fun and the Godwin Field/P-Lot tailgate surroundings would give them a much bigger time feel.

Game day is 9 to noon. Game is at 330. There isn't going to be a "big time" feel around Godwin before 9am. Espn will setup the props anyway
What we need to worry about is get a shitload if people there early and stay until noon.

Are you kidding!?!? If JMU announces College Gameday coming to campus you would have the crowd spilling into P-Lot there are so many people. I don't think we need to worry about how our crowd would be if College Gameday was coming to campus...

Yes we should but the narrative here is no one cares about our FCS team and support will stop until we move up. Obviously the entire board here would attend but will the students? Townies?

If Gameday came to JMU, the crowds would be massive, there is no need to worry about whether or not there will be a good turnout.

I did have a thought though, if this pipedream does become reality, the fly over should happen during the Gameday broadcast.

If GameDay comes, I feel pretty sure we could come up with the cash for two different fly over times

I'm ceremonially appointing Foati in charge of the sign design.

Yeah students will show up- townies too... Everyone wants to showcase the school and the burg on national television. It would prob get some people who are not into JMU football some interest too after they see the exciting environment - also alums visiting for homecoming might be like wow this is big time football- let me see what that flying banner saying jmu2fbs is all about!

While I agree about 99.99%, it's still fun to play what if.

Cool to at least be in discussion! Go Dukes!

Are they really going to do USC at 6 AM?

Yes, they will if it is chosen. Last week they were at Utah - Salt Lake City. Last year, they were at Oregon that early as well. I am sure other west coast locations have been gameday ready at 6am as well.

I was aware of that, but those teams were undefeated, USC is 3-2.

College Gameday at JMU?
No one has mentioned this yet, but our sports information director needs to be in talks with this college gameday producer for this to be any real chance. He better be burning up their phones and laying out the red carpet.
Talk to jeninne Edwards who was just here, etc
