MyBB Basketball season kickoff events for C-USA schools
Anyone having "midnight madness"-like events this season? Share them here.

UAB just held its 4th annual "Hoops on the Haasephalt" event.

Charlotte has our annual Basketball Madness to introduce both men and women's basketball teams. Normally has some friendly competitions between the two teams, dancing, and the slam dunk contest.

So WKU, UAB, and Charlotte are the only schools doing a practice kick-off event?

ODU used to do a Blue/White game, but that's unfortunately gone the way of the Dodo as of late.

MT is doing a kick off thing at the Murph later this month. It is headlined by Seth Greenberg from ESPN. I think there's a ticket you have to buy so i don't imagine many will go.

UTEP has the tip off luncheon on Oct. 27th. Men's and Women's coaches will be there to discuss the upcoming season. Individual tickets are $30 and last year it was sold out. They will have a special announcement about the 50th anniversary of the national championship at the luncheon. I was there and would guess that last year's attendance was about 2k. The men's team will hold their annual scrimmage on October 24th at 1:30 pm. The scrimmage is free and will attract about 5k fans.

I imagine ours will resemble this...

Charlotte's Madness event is horrible. I went the last two years, but will not be going this year.

Marshall is doing an event in conjunction with homecoming in two weeks called "Rock the Rec.". It'll be a Thursday night event after the pep rally bonfire at 10pm.

Such a shame. They used to be fantastic when I was in school. They also used to be at midnight, IIRC.

Nice. Combining it with a football event should help the attendance, I would think.

The luncheon with Seth Greenburg is at Stones River Country on October 22 at 11:30-1:00, the price of the ticket is $20.00 and available only to 6th Man Club members-I bought 2.

Murphy Madness is Oct 29th and open to the public free of charge.

Interesting. That explains it. The ticket service online is a bit off, listing the celebration as being held at the Murphy Center. Murphy Madness will be much more fun than having to pay for some ticket. Wonder if it will be televised on the Blue Raider online network.

Our team and coaches decided to take a hiatus for the rest of the season. No football for us.
