Awesome.

Good to see the the old girl get saved, and loved.

Sad to see some of the other buildings go, but if the choices were save East Hall and put the needed money into making it last the next 100 years, and what was going on before where the buildings were slowly decaying away....I'll take this option.

As long as WMU is around East Hall should get as much love as any building.

Attended the grand opening on Friday and went back to wander around yesterday. Needless to say, they did a spectacular job. The grounds are great and you can't beat the view of downtown from Prospect Hill with the trees and bushes removed in front of the East Portico.

The renovations of the interior of East - err, Heritage - Hall are incredible. All the hallways and public spaces on the two main floors are filled with posters and memorabilia covering WMU's complete history, the main staircase has been restored including the original handrails, and there's now a beautiful ballroom in the middle of the top floor looking out over downtown through the windows. Thanks to WMU's long connection with the Haworth family, the entire building is furnished with some exceptionally nice furniture, too.

Very, very, very well done.

Took a leisurely stroll with several other grads on Sunday, the consensus of the group was wonderful, awesome, stunning.....Our group is getting up there in age, and are very happy to see this wonderful legacy to Kalamazoo and WMU maintained for another 100 years...
Every new student at this great institution should walk these grounds to gain a understanding of Western's great history...

I like that they saved the facade of North hall. Maybe sometime in the future they can put a new building there using the facade.

Those stairways in east hall bring back some incredibly strong memories for me. I was sitting on the third step to the right when who I thought was the greatest looking girl came up to me and started asking me directions.

We were a couple the next three years and got engaged. I'll be saving that picture.

If that is your wife, she deserves a special place in heaven. I'll leave it at that.

There is now a brick there commemorating my wife and I's first date as well.

In town this evening for a Friday wedding. Saw Heritage Hall lit up from the Radisson Parking Garage. It was beautiful. Hope to have some time Friday and Saturday to do some sight seeing.

I watched the video and this building is a class act. UT is in the process of planning an alumni development center in the next 12 to 24 months and If ours is even 80% as nice as this one that would be a fantastic job! Hats off! 04-cheers
