It's a shame that he couldn't put it together off the court. I never like stories like this where kids seemingly throw away great opportunities.

A waste of talent. He has no one but himself to blame.

That's too bad-he could have potentially been an impact player. It's good that he can play right away somewhere and start fresh. I really hope that it works out for him.

This will work out well for the Hawks too because they really have a ton of young, athletic talent that all want to play. Somebody like a CJ Bryce and or a Mark Mathews will now get better minutes and both of them are good and are freshmen. I'm already assuming that Chris Flemmings is going to get good minutes as he looked good in the Bahamas.

A ton of transfers come with baggage.
I do like the Bryce kid and I think he could be very good.

Unfortunate, but I'll hazard a guess to say that we'll still be a solid scoring team without him, with a lot of it coming from our other newcomers. We were already preparing for at least a semester without him, so at least it isn't coming as a complete shock.

We haven't had good luck with transfers out of Florida. Remember the "rapper" from Miami and the 7 footer from the Miami Dade Junior college? We're 0-3 in Florida transfers ever playing a minute as a Seahawk.

On the plus side of things, a recruit from Florida who'd scored over 2,000 points in his High School career was the best basketball player in UNCW history. And we recruited another Florida kid who scored over 2,000 points in his High School career and starts his UNCW career this year. One can dream, right?

As an instructor responsible for the professional development of junior enlisted members and facing situations where you give a person chance after chance and they just can't seem to pull it together...

As much as you like someone, sometimes you just have to cut the cord and send them on their way.

It's tough a lot of times, but necessary. You just hope for the best for them.
